Went for a last minute, late dinner one evening. Enjoyed our pizza very much. Tiramisu was the not best - seemed like it had been refrigerated for a long time. Good service. Good value for money. Would definitely recommend.thanks for the positive review, regarding tiramisu I explain it:in Italy there are hygienic sanitary regulations that keep the sweets at very low temperatures so sometimes their texture is less creamy than it should be to enhance the characteristics of the product.Thank you Fez

Having a house in Umbria we were introduced to this retaurant by a friend 5 years ago.Slightly ticked away on a business park, this is certainly not an establishment you'll suddenly stumble upon, but once you've found it we think you'll find it unbeatable. The fixed price lunch @14 euros (including wine, water and coffee) is exceptional value served in a large atmospheric room with efficient and friendly service. The owners are all very much in evidence, working the tables like the true professionals they are.At weekends in the evening the same room transforms itself into the Sesto Canto restaurant by clever changing of the decor, lighting and table settings. The pizzas are to die for,and the pastas and meat dishes are of a high standard, even for this region.A first class, family run restaurant, which is our favourite of the many we enjoy in the Northern Umbria/Eastern Tuscany region.

If you are looking for a friendly restaurant this is the place. The man who seats and serves is as nice as can be. That is the only thing good I can say about this place. Not only is the service infamously slow, but the food, if you know good Italian home cooking, is just awful. I have been there more than once because I wanted to give them a chance, given the good reviews, but the last time I went was just the worst, even given the affordable prices. Just as an example from this last visit, I ordered the "mixed roast" plate and was basically served a small dish of chicken, duck and rabbit backs. Five little pieces that I had to dig the tiny bits of meat off of in order to not go home altogether hungry. What's more, the bits I managed to pick off tasted distinctly like they had been in the freezer and then popped into the microwave. That was it for me. I'll never go again.A place like this doesn't need to have a wine list, of course, but one reader said, "a nice selection of local wines". There are three wines in addition to the very mediocre house red. Is that enough to be called a selection? I think in Castello there is some dishonesty in the Trip Advisor reviews. Once warned, be wary.

Overall this is a nice place. Pastas, meat dishes and desserts all more than passable. However the cheerful staff are too stretched, literally running all night.to serve a lot of covers. This meant that service, though extremely friendly, was just not efficient enough to warrant a four out of five.

We went there in June twice and both visits where great. Started with crostata ai porcini followed by home made pasta with tartufo and superb Fiorentina steak (make sure that you have enough room left because they don't come small... great atmosphere plenty off local people reasonably price very good value for you money

Nothing was too much trouble for the delightful staff in this excellent eatery. The food was all fantastic - the mixed antipasto, risotto made with smoked cheese which was delicious and came in a massive portion, duck breast, steak all super quality. Even the bread included different flavours - one with rosemary and another with sage. Desserts didn't disappoint either, notably the tiramisu and parfait. All of this was served by a friendly team who were always nearby if you needed to order more drinks or might want more bread, for example. We had a lovely evening here. Highly recommended.

Love this restaurant. Our waitress, Gloria, is very friendly and knowledgeable. Food is outstanding. Had mixed charcuterie (very generous portion), pistachio crusted lamb, pineapple carpaccio dessert - all delicious. Place is quite small and very popular so make sure you reserve a table.

This is what Italian food is about: lovely fresh pasta, in a quiet corner of the city, with very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

The is a listing under hotels on TA but nothing under Restaurants. You don't have to stay at the hotel to eat there. Cuisine is Italian. But your page of questions would not highlight that!
Not far from Citta di Castello, drive through Lerchi and look for a sign on the left for the tiny road to Celle. Drive up and up to arrive at the Ristorante of Borgo di Celle. This is a lovely place to eat in the warm weather months. Possibly not at weekends as they cater for celebrations including weddings. A delicious lunch for two with good wine set us back ⬠75 in total. The setting is panoramic and close to the Pilgrims Way, (via Francigena). Naturally the water was San Pelligrino! The staff are kind and the piped music can hardly be heard in the elegant, tented dinning area.
