I love Aromas and I look forward to their new location. My favorite lunch sandwich is the Vegetarian El Morocco - Grilled eggplant, roasted red bell peppers, hummus, tomatoes, and lettuce, on BreadWorks sunflower wheat bread. Normally, the Shrimp Cassoulet is a spicygrilled jumbo shrimp over a white bean cassoulet served in a tagine with lemon, lime, cilantro, and basil but they are glad to make it low spice. The Beignets are delicious plantain beignets dusted in cinnamon and pistachio, served over lebneh yogurt with toasted almonds, pomegranate reduction, and fresh basil. Great yogurt, an interesting combo with shredded basil in a dessert.Great food and good service.

My husband and I ate at Basil Mediterranean yesterday. It was the second time we have eaten there in nearly a year. The food is fantastic and the service is great too.We love the appetizer platter with hummus, grape leaves, baba ganoush, falafel and tabouli. It is excellent! They serve it with warm pita bread and some cucumbers and tomatoes.Next we ordered the Lamb Shwarma and the Gyro. Both were delicious! The flavor and texture of the meat was wonderful and the veggies were fresh and flavorful. Our server was attentive and friendly, but not overly so. We had ample time to enjoy our meal and our check was delivered following the removal of our empty plates.Basil is about 35-40 min. from our home or we would probably eat there several times per month. Delicious!

The tapas were well prepared, beautifully presented and delicious. Most of the staff were courteous, friendly and prompt. However we were perplexed by the amount of wine served in a glass of house wine. Commonly wine glasses are filled to the widest width of the bowl. (google it) Our glass was about ½ inch below this level and we politely asked our waitress to inquire if the correct amount had been poured. Instead of simply adding another ½ inch of wine to the glass, the bartender came to our table explaining that they weigh the wine before pouring into each glass and that we were served the correct amount. That might be their policy, but this response lessened our enjoyment of Parallel 38. We wonât be back.

First, I don't really care how much I spend in a restaurant as long as I receive value--no problem paying for good food/service. It's all about value. I found Red Pump a poor value. "Wallet Dump" would be a more appropriate name than Red Pump. The prices were ridiculous. For example, $14 for 12 Brussels Sprouts and $17 for a little pepperoni pizza. They were okay, but not great. Overall the menu was disappointingly scant. Some imagination, but very few choices. Our waitress was a zombie--took our orders but only returned when orders were ready and seemed to be in a daze. She never checked in with us to see how everything was or whether we needed refills. The manager seemed to be doing her job and I had to find him to get a refill on my soft drink. I know this is a college town and perhaps an unmotivated workforce, but come on, if you're going to charge over $1 per Brussels Sprout, at least pay some attention. Those at our table who ordered wine were pleased with it, but they were small pours and steep prices. Entrees were okay, but again, quite small and overpriced. If you're going to charge these prices, you need to provide adult prices and non-comatose service. We were told this restaurant had a good reputation, but it we found it overrated, overpriced, and hipsterish. Not a place I could recommend, nor a place I'll revisit.

Ordered the "special" fish which was Cod. Waitress on presentation said that the portion looked smaller than my wife's appetizer, which it was. For $28 this was a rip off and was surprising as in the past this restaurant has been reasonable in its portions and prices. They must be hurting financially to be skimping on their portion sizes.

If youâre roaming around the downtown, you should definitely come here if you like Mediterranean /Turkish food. The experience was great, the interior is gorgeous especially the mural on the wall, the staff is very kind and our waiter, Sergen was very polite and helpful with the menu. They also have outdoor seating thatâs nice to sit out and enjoy your food.I love the food here! I had the vegetarian plate the other day, it was spot on! For desert, I had kunefe which is my favorite from here and I 100% recommend getting this if youâre in the mood for something sweet!
