After riding up to Castelmola from our cruise ship on the open topped bus we stopped for some well deserved refreshments at this rustic bar/café. Grand-Mamma and Grand-Pappa served us and we sipped Prosecco (4euros) and gazed out over the glorious landscape towards a Mt. Etna shrouded in clouds. What a delightful memory of our visit!

Thought we would find something unheard of when reading the reviews. But we were quite disappointed when seeing that the mushrooms were not fresh but from a tin. If you are a foodie looking for that authentic Italian pizza with top quality ingredients, this is not the place.

Antico Caffè San Giorgio in Castelmola overlooks the beautiful and scenic place to monumental 'entrance to the village, greeting, with its inviting feel, from 1907 visitors to the small village ... Here in this historic bar you can enjoy a natural relaxat
We visited Castlemola in an afternoon & decided we wanted an early dinner (5.30ish). Most of the restaurants were closed for siestaâs. Antico Caffe San Giorgio didnât have the best âcurb appealâ and on walking in looked a bit dingy. However, we decided to give it a go and how pleased we were that we did. Excellent pizzaâs, friendly staff & excellent local red wine. Spent a very pleasant couple of hours in there enjoying a very good meal. To top it off the prices are excellent too. Most definitely recommend this little place. Would imagine in the summer itâs completely packed as they are in a prime location & views of Taormina are wonderful.

Restaurant located in Castelmola (One of the most beautiful villages in Italy) right in the city center. Menu of meat and fish and pizza. In summer the pizzeria is open every evening while starting the first week of September, the pizzeria will be activat
I should have judged this establishment from the welcome I received from the woman who showed us to our table, surly was an understatement. The only time she broke into a smile (well half) was when I paid the bill.Anyhow judging by previous positive reviews I should have chosen either a pasta dish or pizza, as the choices my wife and made I made for our main course were decent enough but Lukewarm, with mine being brought to the table about 5 minutes after my wifeâs, together with the bread basket, and since when is a tomato salad just a bowl of sliced tomatoes.

The bar Turrisi is a place of worship located in Castelmola. Founded in 1947 at the hands of the rider Salvatore Turrisi, was born as an inn for foreigners where they were sipping tasty almond wine made ââwith white grapes and infusion of bitter almonds.
We originally sat at the tables adjacent to this restaurant, and the owner was extremely rude, so we moved to the Turissi and we were so glad we did, the 2 guys running the food that day, were super helpful and friendly, we ordered a lovely meal and a large jug of wine, the prices were really good, so we gloated as we watched the other people sat at the more expensive restaurant with the very limited menu and watched the world go by in the beautiful sunshine, some stunning views from this "courtyard" we also went up to the bar, with all the phallic symbols and had a free taster of their almond wine, we wished we could have stayed longer, excellent food, atmosphere and service, well done

We stopped for lunch at Bocciòla while visiting Castelmola. The staff were very welcoming and their recommendations were excellent. Really enjoyed our meals - fish of the day and beef filet - and the service was extremely good. We sat inside, but were still able to enjoy the view onto Piazzo Duomo. Great experience and would recommend.

My wife and I walked by this restaurant at least 10 times and didn't go in as we thought it only served fast food and snacks. Having read fantastic reviews for this restaurant but not realising which one it was, we recognised it from the photos and decided to give it a try.The food, the wine, the atmosphere and the friendliness of the owners are second to none. Please don't make the mistake we did, eat here and you won't regret it.The homemade bread is superb, the local wine outstanding and the food incredible. Our only disappointment: we discovered this on the last day of our holiday.

A fabulouse restaurant with great character, and efficient, friendly service. Seated on the terrace enjoying fantastic views of Mount Etna while we ate, was an extra bonus.Enjoyed some of the best seafood we have ever tasted, and looking forward to our meal each evening was a highlight of our trip. "Zuppa di Naxos" was just one of our favourites. Wish we could have stayed longer! Highly recommended.

A good Island. In the heart of Taormina, a few steps from the Duomo Cathedral, in the ancient and charming home Cipolla. In a historic palace of the late fifteenth century, with two large Roman cisterns (hence the name, in greek), âKisteâ is a place where
Away from the busy main street is this oasis of calm. Beautiful terrace, well spaced tables and an enticing menu awaits. Everything was of a very good standard and the extra course of basil sorbetto was amazing. Good wine list. Our favourite in town so far.

We stopped for lunch, yes the Etna view is beautiful, the staff were friendly however the food was horrible. The pasta dish was packet pasta, they told us it was good quality packet pasta though! We were very disappointed and left feeling hungry and dissatisfied The Best part of the place was the viewDear Justyna,I am sorry to read this comment.Obviously, there is a language/knowledge barrier. I will try again to provide a briefly/synthetic explaination in the hope that you will have future wonderful meals in Italy.1) Pasta = all types of pastas, ingredients, shapes and sizes "spaghetti, pennette, etc."2) Dried Pasta "allâuovo" (made with eggs) comes in a package3) Craft made pasta allâuovo âpasta frescaâ (home made with eggs) â it can be in a package4) Dried pasta made with just water and flower (comes in a package) 5) Craft made pasta made with just water and flower âpasta frescaâ â It can be in a packageThen you have all of the processed ones (frozen, etc.) which you might find in many bars âtouristicâ restaurants, airports fast foodâ¦â¦In our Hotel we use both Dried pasta (as 99% of the restaurants in Italy) On out evening menu you can find both dried and craft madeIn both cases is freshly made/cooked for you (some restaurant would also pre-cook the pasta). We have a small kitchen and only 12 table everything is cooked espresso for our guests we do not use processed food, we take care of all the preparation. We can specifically prepare a requested type of âpasta frescaâ craft made pasta which is not on our menu with a one day notice. We love to personalize meals.I hope that this explanation will make you reconsider your comment and to see you again in the future.Kind regardsPaolo Ferrari, Manager Hotel Villa Ducale Taormina's Boutique HotelPart of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World
