Reviews on Mediterranean food in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Home to two of America's most prestigious universities, Cambridge exudes a certain intellectual quirkiness. A mix of historical haunts, student hang-outs, alternative art and culture venues, vintage clothing shops, bookstores and ethnic restaurants, the city is, well, really cool. Although it is located just across the Charles River from Boston, Cambridge has a distinct vibe that is noticeable immediately. Start at Harvard Square, a hub of activity and mishmash of trendy stores, outdoor cafes and colorful local characters. Pick up a walking tour map at the visitors information booth in the center of the Square. The route will take you past many important landmarks including the Mount Auburn Cemetery, Tory Row and the Longfellow National Historic Site. Harvard University offers student-led tours through the illustrious buildings and monuments of its sprawling campus. Art and architecture buffs should meander around the M.I.T campus, which includes outdoor sculptures by masters such as Picasso and 20th-century buildings designed by modern greats like Eero Saarinen and I. M. Pei. Along the way, browse through bookstores, stop to watch street performers and grab a coffee at an outdoor café to take in all this captivating city has to offer.

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent ambiance, good music, andâa very welcome and rare experienceâa noise level conducive to pleasant conversation. We ordered two tiny dishes and a small dish, each of which had a delicious tomato sauce unique to itself: a spicy bite to the sauce with the crispy polenta; mild and ever so slightly sweet with the arancini; and redder and richer with the meatballs. These dishes were real treats! We also had the smoky mushroom pizza. We completely disagree with previous reviewers' negative comments. It's a flatbread pizzaâon really good flatbread. The toppingsâmushrooms, ricotta, and caramelized onionsâwere wonderfully, subtly smoky. The unexpected theater discount topped off a delightfully memorable supper. (Viale is just a couple doors down from The Central Square Theater, home to the Nora Theater Company, the Underground Railway Theater, and The Front Porch Arts Collective.)

Barcelona Wine Bar & Restaurant is a warm and welcoming tapas bar inspired by the culture of Spain. The ever-changing menu is focused on clean flavors, seasonal ingredients, specialties from Spain and the Mediterranean, and rustic small plate presentation
We sat at an outside table, as the inside of the restaurant seemed like it could get a little noisy. The service was excellent from everybody, including the person at the reservations desk. The restaurant has a large selection of wine and cocktails, and the prices were not crazy. There were many excellent tapas dishes. There were four of us, and we ordered at least 10 different dishes. The dishes were served almost immediately, and every one of them was outstanding. I would definitely go back to the Barcelona Wine Bar. One of the friends with me, who is a foodie and bartender who frequently dines out, said it was the best restaurant experience he has had in a long time. Great job, everybody at the Barcelona Wine Bar. I will definitely return.

This is a fun, family-run restaurant. Often filled with large family groups and with quick service, this is an enjoyable experience. The vegetarian fare is somewhat uninspired and limiting, so you may need to strategize by ordering an appetizer as your entrée.

Having lived near SOFRA and all of its glory, I have long been awaiting trying its sister restaurant, and I was not let down! The small plates are so creative and was fun to try a variety of things. The pork belly biscuits were life-changing! Do not miss it.

I love Oleana and have gone there many times. The food rarely if ever disappoints. Highlights last night were the fatteh, lamb and summer squash roulade, sultans delight, the striper, and the deviled eggs. The one area for improvement is the welcome. The servers are always nice, but ... I always leave with the sense that they aren't very interested in the customers, because the food is enough to get people to come back.

This is not a restaurant, it's a gastronomical destination, prepare your palate for a feast, your emotions for a party, your mind to discover new and wonderful things that you never imagined. Travel by Uber, there is no place to park, enjoy creative libations and then call Uber again.
