What a lovely welcome to this restaurant! The staff were eating their dinner as we walked in, but stopped immediately to greet us and to serve us. And they were eating the food from the menu which is always a good sign. There was very modern décor with clean lines and interesting features in this restaurant which is virtually opposite the road to the station in Prien, so very easy to find. The menu is quite small and has all the Italian classics, which are all prepared to order. The service was quick and friendly, and the food was ordered in a mixture of Italian, English and German. The Scallopina was lovely, the Spaghetti Carbonara was tasty but not too wet, the tuna pizza was generous and well cooked, and the lasagne must have been good, because it was gone before the others got a chance to taste it. Tiramisu was served in individual Kilner jars which was an original touch, and as there were classic Italian liqueurs on offer, we finished the meal with a grappa. This restaurant takes Master Card, which is a rare find in Prien.

Wir hatten unsere kleine Weihnachtsfeier im Hotelrestaurant. Das Essen wird hier noch mit Leidenschaft und frischen, saisonalen Zutaten gekocht. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr entspannt und jedes mal wenn wir hier essen gehen, fühlt es sich wie ein kleines bisschen Urlaub an. Wir freuen uns schon wieder auf das nächste mal!

Die Kampenwand ist spektakulär in vielerlei Hinsicht. Der Aufstieg, die Aussicht und die Massen der Touristen die sich mit Einschalten der Bahn den Berg hinauf bewegen. Gott sei Dank waren wir vor der Masse oben - aber völlig abtörnend war der Betrieb auf den diversen Hütten rund um die Bergstation der Kampenwandbahn - so haben wir dann reiss aus genommen und haben im Tal im Restaurant zur Burg (unweit des Kampenwandbahn-Parkplatzes) zu Mittag gegessen. Unser Essen waren bayrische Tapas und der mediterrane Salat. Beides war sehr lecker, frisch und optisch sehr ansprechend zubereitet. Die Getränke waren gut. Der Service sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und hat sich Zeit für uns genommen. Das ist keine Selbstverständlichkeit heutzutage. Einzig das Ambiente kann noch etwas aufgewertet werden.Fazit das Restaurant zur Burg ist für mich erste Wahl wenn ich mich für den Auf- und Abstieg der Kampenwand belohnen möchte.

Who would have thought that you would find such a gem of a restaurant in Eggstädt! Located in a tranquil area, Jakobo's offers Mediterranean cuisine inspired by the Canary Islands. So this is all about Spain meeting Bavaria - the restaurant itsself has got a very nice Bavarian vibe and ambience with a great Patio/beergarden. Sit there, enjoy the mountain views, have a "Halbe" or sip sangria all the while enjoying the wide variety of tapas offered. We opted for "La Oferta" a tapas menu for two featuring papas arrugadas, pork, fish, prawns, paella *yummy*. We had a very nice waitress who saw to our every need. As the drinks were served she also brought freshly baked bread and aioli to die for. Now that aioli is absolutely divine - but do make sure not to have too much bread and to leave some space for everything else. After the very good reviews we we went there on a Friday evening. When we came the restaurant was still almost empty. Just one couple. We managed to order before a rather large party of 10 people entered. The waiter was not to be seen for 10 to 20 min at a time. With Max 20 people dining one should think it would be no problem for 2 people, but obviously not. The waitress had time for a long guest entertainment. The toilets was freezing. Be sure to take your jacket. The pizzas was good and the bottom very nice and crisp. Nothing to say negative about the food, but if you don't plan to stay for some hours then consider other options.

The waiter was so welcome and cheerful, and this restaurant is raised above the road, so there is a good view. The restaurant was very clean. The selection of meat, fish and vegetable tapas was excellent, and they were served very quickly. The portion sizes were right and the flavours were all good. There were two types of tortilla and two types of potato and all were very good.

It began with a nice welcome by the chef and his offer of the specials of the day. The menu is not big but outstanding. You can't find grey gurnard or grey mullet very often on a menu especially in Bavaria. And both are very well presented and absolutely top prepared. It was a wonderful meal. Also the dessert was fine, Sachertorte with some whipped cream on the side. We will go tomorrow again and are really looking forward to it.

Visit us in Prien at the shores of lake Chiemsee. The Restaurant is located on the property of the Chiemsee Yacht Club. Enjoy the view from the marina and experience alpine cuisine and a fine wine selection.

Overall the hotel and restaurant are excellent. The location is special and the personnel are very warm. The idea of a buffet for the evening meal was a bit of a put-off, but the food served was excellent and a great selection. The rooms are above average and the views from the balconies are amazing.

There were 5 people in my party so each one gave their feedback. Pasta with seafood, bolognese, pizza and my order was penne arrabbiata were delicious. Pets are allowed inside. Meals took a while to serve, perhaps due to a large crowd. It is a tight space.Price is fair.
