We had some great pizza here, exactly what we needed after walking around town for a couple of hours. It's located very centrally, near some of the big attractions such as Bryggen wharf, so if you're in the vicinity, look no further.

After travelling back on the funicular railway and the rain had well and truly set in, the first opportunity for a meal, without staying at the top of the mountain was at Escalon. So in the heavy rain we ran across the road and there we were.We didn't even realise it was a tapas restaurant until we arrived and looked over the menu.The dishes looked inviting and I had the potatoes which were a cross between potato crisps and potato chips... really delicious then I had the meat balls in salsa.Lots of fresh warm bread was provided and replenished when asked for by our friendly African waiter and the only thing that let down the evening is the service went quiet for no reason after the mains were had. Therefore they missed out on us ordering from the dessert menu.When we requested a taxi they kindly advised us of the nearby taxi rank. This italian restaurant is run by some of the same persons that run the Pasta Sentral in Bergen. Pasta Sentral is an institution, a budget-friendly piece of Italy that is known for it's daily dishes and pizza's. This place has a more upscale feel, the menu is still of course italian food. We enjoyed the experience, it was closer to very good than average. The food was good, the only thing was that the meals were too large for us, especially the fish, which I could not finish, even if it was very good. Well worth a visit.
