Had lunch on the lovely outside eating area. Very helpful with gluten free options!I had GF pasta with seafood and prawn - my husband and son also had pasta. Drinks lovely as requested. Staff super nice and would recommend!

The view here is incredible, and the maitre d working when we visited was excellent. Unfortunately the rest of the wait staff let this place down. We ordered drinks and mains and our mains arrived before our drinks....we also had a long wait in getting the bill (3 tables were waiting in total to pay). The food was fine and the wine selection very good.

Child and pet friendly, reasonably priced. Stopped over for a quick lunch for the lack of better options in low season. Lacks a bit of atmosphere in winter, the nicest part, a sunny veranda with lake view, was not in use.We had different pizzas and and the tagliata. Service and food were ok except for the Lido pizza, which tasted fishy and was probably one of the worst seafood pizzas I ve ever tried.

We went here on a whim, after having dined at Il Cavatappi and Hotel Du Lac, which is probably why we werenât in love. The menu options focused mostly on Lake Fish, the actual food was just okay. The service was the worst we had in Varenna, nothing special and mediocre attention to detail/our table. My husband ordered the beef filet which was extremely raw and served with a side of potato chips. Overall I wish we had gone elsewhere on our final night in Varenna.

We have visited Meridiana for late-lunch during our Lake Como trip. It was out of their working hours, but their friendly stuff said they'll prepare something for us. Me and my wife loved the food they have served and their kindness. Our special thanks to Piera and Erind! If you're in Bellano I definitely recommend to visit this nice place to taste real Italian food and hospitality!

My friend Roberta told me: just order one dish... it's plenty! well, how can you? this is paradise, food heaven, absolute bliss. when you are starved in Australia, this is what you dream about. I had polenta with lardo, followed by ravioli al brasato and then followed by more polenta and wild boar... my partner had every possible vegetariann dish on the menu. to say that this experience will stay with us forever is not enough to do justice to this marvellous restaurant. it's a treasure and I hope it will not change forever. we look forward to the next time and for the time being, we just have to keep dreaming looking at the photos we have taken. A shopkeepper recommended and was spot on. my wife had the ravioli stuffed with minced shrimp specialand i had the lake fish dinner which was 5 filets of different fish with some zucchini and scalloped potato. couple glasses of localwine and total 51 euros.

We were excited to eat here after reading all the fabulous reviews. However, our meal was disappointing. I ordered the lamb stew which was bland and tasteless. My daughter had the fish which was also under seasoned. I will say the artichoke soup was delicious and they were nice enough to split an order for us. The place seemed a bit too pretentious for our taste. The service, while efficient, felt a bit unfriendly. I was hoping for more small trattoria vs fine dining stuffiness and would not return.

To be honest I chose to dine here as we were arriving pretty late into our hotel (7:30pm) and it was the closest eatery to our accommodation. How glad am I that I stumbled across this hidden gem!!!Nice modern interior without being flashy, pleasant and attentive service, menu covering most bases, well appointed and well priced wine list - what's not to like? I will add that I assume there is a pretty good view out the doors and big windows over Lake Como but as we arrived in the dark, I can't comment specifically on this.All the plates we ordered were fantastic. Good food, uncomplicated and simply presented but full of flavour. The star for me was the Schiat - local cheese pieces coated in a buckwheat batter and fired. I have eaten heaps of these over the years and the ones from Darsena were the best I have ever had! Other plates of note were the Lake Fish in Carpione and fried lake Perch.We enjoyed 2 bottles of stunning local wines from Valtellina and some solid desserts as well.This is a 'definite return' for me and I highly recommend it if you are in the area.

Once again my large group got to experience a truly superb dinner at Il Caminetto.Providing round trip transfer from out hotel in Varenna and then offering up anabundance of food, wine, and conversation. Moreno and Rossella are the consumatehosts! It was a very memorable evening for everyone. If you are visiting Lake Como youshould definitely come here for dinner and also the cooking class. The icing on the cake is that Il Caminetto is a great value.
