Reviews on Mediterranean food in Beirut, Lebanon. Often called "Paris of the Middle East", Beirut is a thriving hotspot for shopping, socializing and sightseeing, despite many wars and unrest. The city has been rebuilt several times, with modern architecture sharing space with Ottoman and colonial French buildings. Bustling streets such as Hamra and Ashrafieh provide hopping nightlife while the National Museum and the Gibran Museum give visitors a taste of the city's history. The Corniche is the place for activities like jogging and biking.

On the first floor of a villa carefully and tastefully restored with interesting modern twists. A number of different rooms make the space sufficiently cost. The service is quick and sufficiently carefull. The food typical traditional Lebanese is delicious and the servings are abundant. Nice wine list. Price adequate

I had been a few times to Abdel Wahab when travelling for business in Beirut. Everytime, my business partners took me to this restaurant and I thought it was a great place to go for dinner but I I always wondered if it wasn't too "cliché" or if there could be a more traditional restaurant in town.Coming back with my family this time, and after trying a few other restaurants it turned out that Abdel Wahab is definitely the best option in Beirut. Great food, prices are OK and the rooftop is pretty enjoyable especially if you want to finish dinner smoking an arguile.

Located in the vibrant City of Beirut, Appetito Trattoria is a cozy escape from the hustle bustle world, right in the middle of Hamra & Gemmayzeh. The design concept is a homey, rustic, Italian trattoria, and the food is wholesome and always fresh.
I work and live in Hamra and come VERY often to Appetito - not only it's practical, it's also very good (and fits all the criteria of a good Italian Trattoria)! I come with my wife, friends and colleagues. The menu is variated without being too large, the "forno a legna" (pizza oven) functions very well and the staff (headed by Diana) is helpful and friendly. Don't miss it!
