We had a light but delicious lunch at O Nikolis and spent a very pleasant hour under the shade of the beautiful tree opposite the restaurant. Nikoleta, the manager also served. She was so friendly and helpful!! She ecplained and conversed with great cordiality and other staff as well.Our salad and our Cretan cooked greens were delicious. They are grown in Nikoleta"s garden and so are the hens that lay the daily fresh eggs at the restaurant. At the end of the meal we had very good Greek Coffee and were offered Raki and delicious sweet watermelon. The place and the toilet are spotless. Warmly recommend!!

Katerina is an amazing cook! She and her husband Mikal an their family made us feel so welcome and loved through their food and their generous sweet selves we had to go back!!! On that first day we ate lamb with artichokes and some simple boiled zucchini. We thought we had gone to heaven. We weren't going to have dessert, but in the end had the warm orange cake and couldn't believe the flavor!!! Of course raki came with the dessert... The next day we had the most tender goat in tomato sauce ever... and we sat and chatted with Mikal the owner while his brilliant 14 year old grandson also Mikal interpreted. We miss Katerina and her family already!!!!

We were several times in the Kritamon for dinner. The traditional dishes are excellent and absolutely delicious! We particularly liked the homemade sushi and the chicken souvlaki! The owners are very friendly and have decorated their restaurant with love. The courtyard is so beautiful and you can sit here in such a cozy place. Great prices for gourmet quality! On our next visit to Archanes we will be back for sure!

We had lunch here during our short trip to archanes and we found the leafy outdoor setting quite wonderful. The salad was fresh and delicious and the food portions were good. The service was a little slow but I don't think we were in any real hurry.

Lots of restaurants are found here but we decided to have dinner at the Zen.One of our friends ordered moussaka which was not very good and the other one ordered the chicken fillet which was very nice. I ordered âbiftekiâ which is the greek equivalent of a burger. The dish came almost burnt it was really black on both sides and I ended up removing burnt meat, like removing large bits of charcoal from the food. Although the food and the salads were excellent the fact that the moussaka was not good and that the beefsteak was burnt force me to give this restaurant 2 stars.I want to ask the manager whether the chef was smoking or doing something and had forgotten my meat on the grill but I was told no, thatâs how this is made! Excuse me? We also noticed people in the table next to us had very nice looking bifteki, not even burnt. I asked and they said that it was âal dente!!!â Meat is âal dente? So my recommendation is that this place has some good stuff and some bad stuff and thatâs why Iâm giving it 2 stars. Next day we tried the restaurant just next to it and it was really good we enjoyed the briam which is a vegetable dish and it was very good.The first photo is from the burnt food with its burnt bits removed, and the second photo of a real, not burnt âbifteki.âThank you for choosing ... the result was finally the enjoyment ... you couldn't resist ... and you finally enjoyed it.

After having some not so nice experience in Heraklion we tried Maxim, based on the reviews here. We were not disappointed. As appetizer we had mussels saganaki, a huge plate with mussels and vegetables covered with melted cheese. Main course was a traditional dish made of lamb, delicious as well. 2 persons shared 1 portion of each since we wanted to try more than one plate, and it was actually too much! Portions are big. Even if we were full, the server brought us fruits and raki on the house, very good option for desert.

Discovered this place 3 years ago so we had to go back again. Definitely not disappointed, the food is amazing, great service.
