Situated just outside Braga, near the chapel of St. Frutuoso of Visigothic Montélios, this space is where the art of cooking and hospitality are always present. Restaurant with more than 30 years, a landmark in the city, bleached so original, presents an
While in Braga we decided to try Frutuoso based on the reviews and it did not disappoint! I have eaten bacalhau many different ways since my family is Portuguese but I have never eaten like this. It was delicious!!!! My husband had cabrito which he really enjoyed. The service was excellent. They made you feel at home. Thanks for a excellent meal! Thanks for the visit and for the words. See you. Best regards.

Very cozy and comfortable environment with friendly and professional service. The chef served our delicious food. Simple ingredients of olive oil garlic and salt on a perfectly cooked filet mignon and little baked potatoes and side veggies. Delicious 2015 Douro wine "Duas Quintas". Delicious desert as well and Delta premium coffee. Yes...delicious indeed.

Just had a dinner with a large group T Retrokitchen. We had several starters, all excellent. These were followed by steak and potatoes, rice and curried seafood, and duck. A group of 16 and every dish was perfect. Not a complaint in the group. Would come on my own without a second thought. Highly recommended if you are liking for something very good but perhaps not traditional Portugese.

We went to Tabuas and Portuguese tapas were phenomenal - very competent and friendly team.Saquinhos de camarao (little baskets with shrimp - deep fried), montadinho de cavala fumada (light smoked white fish on top of red pepper and black toast), pork cheeks with grelos (seasonal greens), mini octopus seasoned with herbs and pimentoes were awesome.Worth the visit on a rainy night.Five stars!Kudos Tabuas!

A wonderful local Portuguese restaurant. Lovely staff, delicious food and wine, and remarkable value. We had booked which was lucky, because even on a Tuesday evening the restaurant was full of locals. The (optional) covert/starter was delicious, particularly the octopus which was amazing. For mains we shared Duck Rice (1 portion) Bachalau á Braga (1/2 portion), and Carapauzinhos (1/2 portion) between four of us - all were excellent (and so large, any full portion would probably have been enough for three of us to share). We drank the house red which was very soft and palatable and remarkable value. The local ambience was wonderful, and the bill at the end of the evening incredibly modest. An amazing evening in an amazing restaurant.

We had a lovely meal here tonight. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, not overly intrusive. We ordered the Monkfish, prawn and clam rice stew which was fantastic and some pudding. The house white wine was just 8 Euros for a carafe and excellent. Highly recommended and defo worth a trip from the hotels at the top of Bom Jesus. My other half wished he had not driven.

Three menu options with two price options, but sometimes too much choice can be a burden. Iâm not vegetarian myself (my partner is) but this was the best vegetarian food I have ever had out at a restaurant. Very high quality ingredients, very reasonably priced (Could definitely charge more),free infused tea, beer well priced too. We stumbled across this place by accident and were so glad we did. Would loved to have stayed longer for desert but had to travel onwards speedily.

We booked so our table was ready and they were going to be busy. Good selection of fish and meat dishes, however no vegetarian options. I asked and the waiter, who speaks perfect English, got the chief to cook me a very tasty meal. The deserts are to die for, so much so we are going back next week. Prices are very reasonable and you will have a good range of local dishes to choose from. My tip is to book as they can get busy, always a sign of a good restaurant.

We chose this restaurant as it had a very interesting looking menu and we weren't disappointed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, helping us select our meal. We chose the baby lamb which was delicious - and fortunately opted for the extra large portion to ensure we had enough between us. It was so tender, flavoursome and moist. There was also a good selection of vegetables. We chose a carafe of local red wine which was "young" but went down well, particularly at the price of 6 euros! Sadly we can't comment on the desserts as we were full up.Just one word of warning: it's cash only but not that expensive.
