Vinha d 'Alhos is an open and very nice place. It presents a rustic but sober decoration and attentive to the details, with a service of excellence and a warm atmosphere, because these are requirements that its owners do not hesitate to provide to those w
After spending a morning in busy Nazare, we elected to drive 4 KM to this restaurant in the sleepy village of Valado. It was a good decision. Behind a colorful street-side façade lies a light, attractive and well-appointed dining room. We selected salmon which was baked in the oven and served piping hot. It was delicious, and the portions were generous. (See the picture of the half that I took away for another lunch!) We munched on olives and freshly baked bread before the salmon arrived and washed the meal down with a half bottle of very tasty white wine. The total bill was 29 Euro before we added a generous tip for the excellent service. The menu was in Portuguese but that wasn't a problem because our server explained everything. After lunch we explored the train station close to the restaurant which serves as the station for Nazare.

Was recommended here by our hotel, especially for the seafood. Watch out,it's closed on Monday. But made plans to return on Tuesday and glad we did. Not the cheapest place in town, but busy all night.. My wife's sea bass was excellent. My cod was maybe a touch over, but with the tangy pickled sauce to cut through,it was still lovely to eat.. On the road running round the beautiful bay, if you're not staying in Sao Martinho, it would cap a fantastic day trip,as it did for us from Foz de Arelho around10 miles down the coast.

This is a decent, average restaurant catering to masses of tourists. Nothing really wrong., but not much to rave about. We had three fabulous mixed salads, a steal at 2.5 euros each. One very well done hamburger, one plate of clams, and one âhot saladâ ( six or seven clams and six or seven very good shrimp in a soy sauce. One had chicken breasts that were tasty but too much to eat. One bottle of full bodied reserve white wine. I also had fish soup that did not taste of fish â rather bland, which is typical of Portuguese soups. Nice waiters, but not the type to engage customers. Overall: not at all bad, but nothing to write home about. Average across the board.

We were given the English manuals, even though we live in Portugal and speak Portuguese. We decided to have the pasta with monkfish. It was nice but nothing really special. We had no starters, just the bread and olives, monkfish pasta for 3 people, a bottle of wine and 3 coffee, and had to pay a little under 100 euros. Reading the Portuguese reviews of this restaurant, and thinking about our own experience, we suspect this restaurant has higher prices for tourists in their English menus.

This restaurant came highly recommended and it delivered on most fronts.Staff were attentive and informative, with a good knowledge of the menu.Tables were well arranged and the decor clean and tidy.We had the prawn rice for 2, which was lovely and codfish which wasnât quite so good, followed by desserts which were great. The house red was excellent.Prices were very reasonable 45⬠inc. the tip for 3 people. So all considered worth the visit, if you are in the Alcobaça area, we live 45 mins away, so not worth traveling past lots of other really good restaurants, to get there.BeeseyDave

Dear guests, we hereby inform that we will be closed for holidays until the 05th of december. We will re-open on friday the 06th. Thank you for your preference and see you soon! Nova Caravela is the place to be for fresh fish and seafood in São Martinho!!
If you like seafood, this is the place to be! Good service (friendly, attentive but not intrusive) and perfect dishes. We took tiger prawns (big, juicy and very tasty) and Cataplana (fish stew with lots of fresh seafood in the bowl) I am a regular visitor of Sao martinho do porto and this is for me one of the best restaurants in town. I advise to make a reservation because the place is almost always fully booked. Dear Edwin,Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your comments and review. It is with great pleasure that we see that you consider us to be one of the best restaurants in town, and really thank you for your kind words. Please do visit us again soon.Thank you!

Haven't been there in quite a while, but seems to have changed a lot.It has a great atmosphere with a great selection of Portuguese food.It looks a bit more expensive than the average, but the food is worth it.This time I only had the Salmon, but it's actually a well known restaurant for suckling pig.
