Reviews on Mediterranean food in Ajaccio, Communaute d'Agglomeration du Pays Ajaccien, Corsica. Ajaccio, Corsica's main city, is fun to visit at any time of year. But if you're a secret (or not-so-secret) Napoleon Bonaparte groupie, plan to be there on August 15 and join the celebration of the birthday of Ajaccio's most famous son. Casa Buonaparte, Napoleon's family home and birthplace, is worth a visit, as is the town cathedral. Or just enjoy the Corsican sun.

Without checking Tripadvisor and just casually wandering through the small streets of Ajaccio looking for a good place for lunch, we were immediately attracted to this restaurant. Because of its good location (a narrow alley, the walls of the houses giving shadow to the terrace) and because of the attractive menu. We tried out the codfish and the duck, the little one went for the hamburger. We were all happy with our choice. Presentation was top, food was delicious and a bit special. The codfish was e.g. prepared in the grease of the duck. The duck was served with a nice sweet potato mash. The Clos culombu rosé wine gave us the refreshment we needed. The tiramisu dessert was a bit less special but still good. Service was also perfect, right speed and with humor. In the end we got a digestif from the house. Highly recommended.

We wanted to have lunch where sardines were served and this lovely aubergine had them on the menu. They were cooked to perfection and accompanied by delicious vegetables and plenty of them. The owner and staff were very pleasant. The restaurant itself is very nice and belowarm ground but there is a small alfresco area on the street. Well worth a visit.

Restaurant avec salle et terrasse panoramique vue sur port, cuisine du monde, grillades, viandes et poissons, bar à woks.
We've just returned to our hotel room (less than 10 minutes walk) after an excellent meal. The food was all freshly prepared and delicious, the prices reasonable, and the service impeccable. The only fault was that the food was served on cold plates, and so got cold too quickly for our liking. We hope to return before we leave this beautiful part of the world.Un Grand et Sincère merci à vous pour votre gentillesse et votre bonne humeur ...A bientôt ...Agnes & Jack

The menu is small only two choices per course therefore everything is fresh and beautifully cooked to your specification. We had one pregnant lady in our party and it was absolutely no trouble for the chef to accommodate her. Wine recommendations were good. All in all the best meal we had in Ajaccio. Location nice slightly out of old town about 10 minute easy walk.

We came here through Trip Advisor reviews aware that a lot of places in the old town lack authenticity. Itâs quite expensive, so we went for the set menu at 32 Euro. Itâs 3 courses. My wife doesnât eat sweet things so we asked if cheese could replay pudding. No problem. So we had fish soup followed by fish of the day which was moustelle, a local boy. Both dishes were lovely. I had a home made flan and my wife the excellent local cheese. We also had a bottle of Corsican white. Really good. Friendly and attentive family staff.

In Ajaccio for 7 nights we were left disappointed by our first 3 dinners in various restaurants (Roi de Rome, LâAltru Versu, and St Pierre) but then came Le Bistrot Gourmand. Everything weâd been looking for.Beautiful freshly cooked food, charming service including a lovely explanation of the blackboard menu, a surprise amuse bouche, the best wine of the trip so far, and to top it off an amazing value for money set price for 3 courses (think it was 39 Euros but would have happily paid 49). My caprese type salad starter was the best Iâve ever had, and my husbandâs pork tart really knocked his socks off. The fillet steaks 10 out of 10 accompanied by delicious sauté potatoes, and the chocolate fondant for afters, wow!It was all so impressive that weâre breaking our rule of always going somewhere different for dinner and are going back in 2 nights time. Canât wait! Do book, itâs rightly popular (and have an aperitif in Chez Gerard by the coast opposite first or a coffee there after, great vibe and a great piano player).

Restaurant de type semi-gastronomique a base de produits frais et locaux. Capacité de 20 couverts, réservations conseillés.
Was just great place to eat lunch, service and food was perfect. Prices are good regarding the amount of work they must put in a plate and knowing there were only two staff working in the whole restaurant one person for the service and the chef. Very welcoming people and great food Good morning, thank you for taking the time to write your opinion. We are very happy that you had a good time at " Le Petit Restaurant". Best regards, Eléonore et Jonathan
