We have been in Agia Pelagia many times before and have tried many of the restaurants here. We decided to try out this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. We tried some of the food from greek menu. We had both the veal giouvetsi and the lamb with yogurt. Both dishes were amazing. We are definitely coming back.

Have been going to crete for 8 years now, always at the centre of our stay is classico cafe the owners are brilliant, the food and drinks are excellent and the cafe itself is very welcoming, its smack bang in the middle of the beach with outstanding views. Love it

Good, simple, local and traditional food but I wasnât blown away by the food, service or view. Itâs a shame the restaurant canât reserve the parking spaces opposite as cars often park and blocking it leaving you with just a road to admire. I can see some other reviews had a fantastic experience so perhaps we got a little unlucky and with such an affordable menu itâs worth a shot. Taverna Bar Stelios is a family run restaurant opened in 1987. From that time our mother is cooking until now. Every day we offer a big variety of fresh local products from the local producers and fishermans.
We were staying next door at an all inclusive hotel, but we loved Stelios Taverna so much we ate here for a couple of evening meals, rather than at our hotel buffet. The taverna is set in an amazing location, right on the beach with stunning views. The menu is very greek, very extensive and you will find something you love on it. The food is amazing, all freshly prepared, very authentic, quality ingredients and loads of it. Great value for money and a lovely atmosphere. It's a family business, and all the staff were lovely and very friendly. The complimentary desserts & raki/ouzo at the end of the meal was a lovely gesture by the taverna, those of you who have eaten at Stelios will know what I mean, and those who haven't eaten there yet really should go. This is probably one of the best tavernas/restaurants I have been to in years.

Taverna Bar Vasilis is a family restaurant opened in 1982, the firts on the Mononaftis Beach. Run by three generations of the same family, creating a friendly atmosphere and serving delicious food. Always fresh fish, seafood, meat and greek specialities w
From the minute you walk in you are welcomed and treated like one of the family. The food is amazing and very large portions with complimentary breads, dips, cheeses and desserts. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and the owners arranged for fireworks over the sea ( we didnât request them). The whole experience was amazing and I can not recommend this family run restaurant more highly! A beautiful night.

An atmospheric, cozy place and of the most popular gourmet hangouts of Heraklion, since 2000. All these years 'Parasies' -as was the original name of the restaurant- has been opening its doors to foodies in a smaller, intimate and beloved place. Our desir
Stopped in for lunch on our first day in Crete, and found ourselves in a lovely place with some of the best food we've eaten on this three week trip.Traditional dishes are brought into the modern world and everything is prepared beautifully. This is a very special place that will not disappoint.

After having some not so nice experience in Heraklion we tried Maxim, based on the reviews here. We were not disappointed. As appetizer we had mussels saganaki, a huge plate with mussels and vegetables covered with melted cheese. Main course was a traditional dish made of lamb, delicious as well. 2 persons shared 1 portion of each since we wanted to try more than one plate, and it was actually too much! Portions are big. Even if we were full, the server brought us fruits and raki on the house, very good option for desert.
