Cascina rosio is simply one of the best Cascina to go to around that area. The location is just great. Few minutes away from the busy and jammed traffic of milan and you experience your own twilight dimension. In fact, being just by the Parco Agricolo sud, gives to cascina rosio an authentic idea of being in the middle of nowhere, forgotten by everyone , though easy to reach and impossible to miss it ;) Perfect place to share with a nice , big group of good friends and kids are more than welcome for real ;) and cost for 'em is reasonable applied to what they normally eat/drink. I'd say fair enough, considering that kids pay 60% of total cost of adult while babies are mostly not charged.Food is normally served in shifts, so u better be there on the clock making sure you won't miss the starting bell sound: that could be a downside for some, but on the average I'd say it's worth to have their criteria in place and having orders running smoothly out of the kitchen .Nice to walk in and find the starters already there waiting for you , served on a set up table well in advance , with good order. Food quality is above average. I haven't been here for a while and a bit worried to have carried a better memory than what it was brought forward in the past few years, but i was happily surprised to confirm the same ratio, maybe a better presentation and a bit less quantity than what i used to recall maybe if you want to be picky , but still good enough to spend a lovely 3 hours eating good food , fill up your belly , taste good food and enjoying the company.Going into details, their variety of starters was pretty filling between baked cakes and local salumi. To mention their onion treated in sauce and served in a bump of slices that was closer to cabbage rather than onions. Sweet!!Main course was first a double served dish with salami rice and cannelloni di ricotta con pistacchio on a cauliflower bed followed by brasato chops cooked in wine and chicken slice covered by juicy mushrooms.Desert was good but little ;) Once again, atmospheres and environment good enough to fell somewhere else but not at 5min drive from Milan while service fast and kind, good enough to avoid pile of empty dishes growing on your table and block the view to who's opposite to you.Little downside, maybe i would have left house wine included in the 30⬠/per person cost, while leaving the opportunity to still upgrade the level if desired ...Besides that, nothing elae to add . Nice surprise besides the parking lot, was the recent ( for me ) farm set up just behind the Cascina, to complete the already right atmosphere.CiaoEpi

Il rapporto qualita' prezzo e' notevole, 20 euro per la cena bevande escluse . La qualita' e' sempre buona , uniche due pecche il,risotto troppo al dente e la farinata troppo spessa. Questo toglie un pallino. Ottimo il vino

we went here booking through The Fork with a fantastic 40% discount. I had onion soup which was delicious, the other diners had pizza. All very good. It's a busy place, better make reservations.

Fairly smart settings right next to the ancient castle, in the park. We had three very good main courses: a well-fried veal cutlet, a dish of ravioli fresh pasta stuffed with bitto cheese, and a milanese ossobuco (braised veal shank slice with bone and marrow) with risotto. The first less positive finding was a dish of fried fish and vegetables in batter, greasy. The second surprise was bottled water. 2.5 Euros for a .75 liter bottle are a common if annoying practice at restaurants around here. What I found annoying is that smaller bottles are less expensive than larger ones, suggesting shabby, careless pricing.

Tried once, as soon as it is hard to find out a real Neapolitan pizza. Actually, it is, as long as it comes with its high crust... However, I find out some issues which drove me to lower my score. In particular, I do not appreciate the tomato sauce, a bit sour for my palate (less on top, please). Dough is good, well cooked, not salty, crunchy enough; mozzarella on its standards. The other toppers seemed of a good quality. Desserts are very regional, but not astonishing. Finally, the place's atmosphere is not very cozy, sometimes raffish... and the oven is not on sight (quite peculiar to be a pizzeria)!

Trattoria: "An informal restaurant or tavern serving simple Italian dishes". Almost true, as soon as actually they serve dishes simple enough, although some pretend to be chic or sophisticated. Supposedly, prices should have to be "informal" too, however, if you pick from the list (or something different from the daily menu), the informality ends up in a bit... At last, results are not bad, but, in my opinion, fail to light up a spark and call you for another ride. So, the overall score cannot be higher than average, letting apart the service, which was far below than that (maybe, we were just unlucky).

Found by chance whilst driving along the Naviglio, we entered and found a very pleasant surprise. A totally refurbished old building had simple but tasteful tables and general décor; managed by a group of young men, they offer delicious local recipes at a very reasonable price. The food was lovely, the service informal and friendly, the choice of wine good and tempting. Local recipes are a must there.

Recently (re)opened, the restaurant welcomes you with a small and cozy atmosphere, very good overall quality, fresh products mostly belonging to local production (including wines), friendly and sincere service. As in its name, it does not promise french cuisine, but typical regional dishes, reinvented by its young cook and co-owner. In my opinion, food is tasty enough and its not overpriced: maybe the menu is a bit skimpy, and the monthly menu change could be a limit. Anyhow, here stand my humble suggestion: 1) you need to valorise your offer, customers need to be visually pampered (i.e.: dishes presentation) and 2) you need a workhorse, sometimes people come back just to have the same old slice of cake...
