Sitting in the charming old Gussago downtown, this Osteria is run by a family, with the mother in the kitchen and son and aunts serving at the tables. You have a wide choice of local specialties (casoncelli alla bresciana and tortelli with bagoss cheese, ghiottoni and paccheri among the others) as well as main dishes (angus beef, chianina steak, arrotolato di coniglio, roasted calf). Bread is good, tiramisu, panna cotta and semifreddi are home made while ice-cream are not (for a very strict law in Italy it's hard for a restaurant to produce its own ice-cream). Everything was good but nothing impressed us. We choose a very good Amarone della Valpollicella for ⬠28 (if you can't drink the entire bottle you can take it home), but overall the bill was quite expensive (more than ⬠45 per person, wine included). During winter weekends the Osteria in crowded and lousy, so better to visit it during spring and enjoy your meal in the outdoor seating.

In an old building with well spaced big wooden tables. There is a fireplace, very comfortable in winter. The restaurant offers local cuisine, meat, filled pasta, polenta and other courses from Franciacorta, the famous wine area. You may enjoy an aperitif in a rock cellar and delicious homemade desserts. It is a little far from Milan, but sometimes I go there with my friends, to have a good dinner in a very relaxing place.

Mi sono fermato una volta per pausa pranzo e ho mangiato molto bene , al ritorno da un week end dalle terme mi sono fermato a cena con mia moglie , e anche in questa occasione mangiato molto bene , piatti ben presentati e giusti nelle dosi , servizio puntuale e prezzi adeguati . Il ristorante si trova in centro del paese a fianco della chiesa e ha un piccolo dehor dove si può mangiare all esterno . Il nome curioso deriva dal fatto che in precedenza in questo sito sorgeva appunto âuna vecchia scuola â . Ristorante consigliatissimo

Pranzo di lavoro con colleghi del posto, che mi invitano a pranzare in questa osteria. Nascosta nei vicoli del paese, è raggiungibile solamente se conosciuta.Piccolo parcheggio nella piazzetta fronte osteria e vetrine modestamente sponsorizzate.Come si suol dire, l'abito non fa il monaco, entrato all'interno, il locale è ben curato e il servizio cortese e impeccabile. Osteria di paese con piatti della cucina tipica lombarda, ricco buffè di antipasti/contorni e menù pranzo di lavoro da vero gourmet!Assolutamente accattivante la proposta culinaria e i piatti ben presentati e gustosi.un locale che non ti aspetti, ma che lascia il segno senza appello!Da tenere in agenda, consigliassimo per chi è da quelle parti in pausa pranzo....Prezzi davvero contenuti per i piatti e il locale con il suo servizio.Bravi!
