La Hacienda Mexican Grill Provides Mexican Restaurant, Breakfast Menu, Lunch Menu, Combos Meals, Sides and Beverages Menu to the Southampton, NY Area.
This place is the antithesis of all things Hampton--a dive that makes good, honest food at a good honest price. You don't go here to be seen (I've only ever had take-out, but then again, who wants to see me anyway?) A small place with four or five tables, and the typical takeout Mexican place kind of decor...colorfully painted with a sombrero hanging on the wall. But you don't go for the decor...or service...or people watching. You go because you want delicious refried beans with homemade chips.
Such a consistently delicious authentic place to enjoy wonderful Ecuadorian food. It feels like one could be coming in for a lunch break at the hacienda as the place often has a line of patient workers who get to select a variety of generously served foods waiting attractively in steaming serving trays and served happily by devoted group of ladies. English is understood but the experience here is really one of Spanish immersion. The seating area consists of two simple tables with benches and a couple counters with stools inside, and a pleasant outdoor area with simple dining tables, under trees. My favorites include the large chicken breasts, the large tender bead steaks, rice and beans and plantains. Also many other genuine Ecuador specialties. Tasty hot sauces are available. This is not a fancy place. Five stars for friendliness and consistently delicious food at fair prices.

It is very refreshing to find this down to earth, non pretentious Colombian restaurant in Southampton. It also helps that it is close enough to our home to walk to. We probably eat there once a week. It offers a true Colombian atmosphere, simply decorated, mostly Hispanic clientele, friendly staff with limited English and really authentic Colombian food. They have great, flavorful rotisserie chicken. We often each have "medio pollo"(half a rotisserie chicken) with a side of "maduros" (sweet plantain - yummy) or a side of "complemento" (the best red beans and rice I have ever had). It makes a great meal for just under $10pp, often with some leftover chicken. They have great "typical dishes" that come with lots of extras that mostly range from $10-15. They include many tasty seafood, steak, and pork dishes. The meat dishes are prepared the Colombian way - thin cuts, flavorful, and huge portions. Don't expect this to be a NY style steakhouse. You will not find 2 in thick filet Mignon. The most expensive dish on the menu is the grilled skirt steak (under $20) but I have never tried that. Don't be concerned about the possible language barrier. The staff is very accommodating and you may even come out learning some Spanish. If you see something you like, don't be afraid to point and say "I want that". For a very authentic Colombian experience, you cant beat this without buying a plane ticket. I've never seen it so busy that you have to wait, but on summer weekends they do get a lot of families (generally very well behaved youngsters). Looking forward to my next visit.
