Things to do in Tacna
If you planned to taste the peruvian food without go into bankruptcy, this is your place, definitely. There are for sure expensive places with food as good as the kind you can try here, but the price is so convenient that if you go to another place is just because you like fancy decoration. Starting, the famous "cevichop" is a whole beer pint mug filled with lemon marinated fresh fish, sliced red onions and local chile named "rocoto" sliced in small cuts. The juice provided by it, is called "tiger milk" and it's known as aphrodisiac and hangover cure. And it works! After that you can try several dishes in considerable amounts, because they have combos of three dishes in one, so you can try a "causa" (mashed yellow potato filled with shrimps or chicken), a "picante" (meat boiled with rocoto sauce and hand mashed potatoes) and some "chicharron de pulpo" (octopus deep fried with a crusty cover) or "Tiradito" (octopus or fish slices, with lime juice and yellow chile) all this combined with a jar of "chicha morada", a nice drink made out of purple corn, very sweet and refreshing. Or a jar of "pisco sour", if you are not driving. All this, it's not over $20 bucks for 2 people. The crew is very cheerful and very pleased to have you as customer.

Possibly the best value restaurant in Tacna. Ate there three times in one week. Not the most expensive nor fancy but it has a tremendous variety of food, all delicious. The pizzas are some of the best I have had in South America. They have created some great combinations of toppings including small pieces of steak. The chupes or fish stews/thick soups are extremely rich. Great for a cool evening. The Corvina cooked on an iron pan was perfect. My only regret was that I didn't get a chance to try any of the sandwiches which looked great. This places also serves Pilsen Callao and Cristal beers. There are tables upstairs that have a great view of the street below. Finally, the waiters were very helpful if you speak some Spanish. A bit pricey for Tacna but a bargain if you are from the US or Europe.

Just a short taxi ride from the bus terminal. Open earlier than most others and the service is perfectly wonderful in this airy restaurant with classic Peruvian plates!
We shared Chicharron de Pescado, Ceviche Mixto and the Pork Ribs! Each dish was beautiful. And the serice was excellent inspite there being many hungry families in multiple dining rooms! The beer was cold, cold and the Pisco Sours were perfect accompaniment & served by the pitcher! - http://www.laglorietatacna.com/

Restaurante de comida peruana y fusión con especialidad en pescados y mariscos. Contamos con una amplia carta diseñada para complacer los gustos de nuestros clientes.
Great service, great cebiches, great drinks (that came for with the lunch). Not many restaurants in Tacna and we were happy to have found it! Would definitely come back for a cebiche. After we finished they offered to call us a cab since we were going to the airport and the bus station (we split).
