Reviews on Latin food in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. A stronghold of Mayan culture, San Cristóbal’s colonial stucco walls and Spanish tile roofs contrast with the surrounding villages, which remain home to an array of Mayan-descendant Indians. The city itself is a delight. Paired with the cultural diversity surrounding it, there’s nothing like it in Mexico.

We ran into Kokono by coincidence and because the entrance area looked so inviting. Once inside we found that the place lacked an appealing and cosy decor but the staff gave us a warm welcome so we stayed. And luckily so because everything we had was absolutely delicious.

Wow - amazingly Delicious!!!I read some reviews that said this place had no flavour... they must have not bothered to add in all the amazing condiments!!! Yum!!We had the megacoleta (I thought it was going to be "mega", but it's actually a normal size for Australia. Haha) with PORK - Wow!! So much flavour and ever so juicy.Stay away from the marlin (swordfish) tacos. Wasn't anything special and tasted like it was from a can Definite must haves pork, guacamole and the crusty massive cheese thing was great. All the condiments Will definitely come again!!

Best seafood soup I have ever had!Spicy and tangy, with the guacamole it was perfect.Best food in San Cristóbal! Saludos!

We tried a variety of tostadas, salsas, moles with camarones and local drinks. Each dish is carefully prepared with many ingredients sourced from local community. Presentation is impressive and the servers attentive and friendly. Lovely courtyard and dining rooms.

I went here for lunch and can say that in my experience this restaurant is very average. The service was very slow, wifi didn't work and the quinoa salad I ordered was extremely unsatisfying; very small, no imagination, very bland, literally just a small pile of quinoa on a plate with some halved cherry tomatoes, tiny goats cheese balls and some raisins with an acceptable pesto on the side. Would not recommend. Much better food for the same price elsewhere.

TANIPERLA. RESTAURANTE. Colectivo IndÃgena de La Selva Lacandona. Pizzas a la leña, Pastas, Mariscos. Mas una diversa carta, para todos los paladares y apetitos.
This place is truly great! The good is local, simple, and very well prepared. The menu is small but very good and only local fresh ingredients used. Prices are exceedingly reasonable and the staff is happy, friendly, and relaxed. Coffees are terrific. I had lunch there and went back for dinner to further explore their menu and I was not disappointed.

The place looked nice in the middle of an artisanal shopping arcade but the food was poor and the service worse. To be avoided...

A restaurant that makes you travel 500 years into the past through its gastronomic proposal. Enjoy the cuisine of the Colonial Period in the Province of Chiapas, when it belonged to the Captaincy General of Guatemala, from 1521 to 1821. The proposal for t
I was with a group and the restaurant offered a posh demo and tasting. For the meal, the chef prepared a soup, entree and dessert based on local traditional cuisine. I wish I knew what the courses were called, so I could recommend them. The meat had a wonderful chocolate mole sauce and the coffee-flavored cake for dessert was lovely. Go a little out of your way to find this place and know this is a lovely property, with excellent service and delicious food.Hello, Esther. We are very happy that you enjoyed your experience in the CAPITANIA.We are to order when you like to return.
