With a charming menu, it seemed so inviting, but I doubt if we will return since the sighting of mice. NYC Health Dept. cites "evidence of mice or live mice present in facility's food and/or non-food areas." Holy Mousetrap! This place also flunked restaurant inspection. No repeat visits for us. Maybe they should get a cat.

My mom and I had dinner at Flor de Mayo last night around 7. It was packed. We waited five minutes for a table to become available. The restaurant is full of friends and family, and very lively. We ordered egg roll ($4 for one is expensive), fried plantains, lomo saltado, egg foo yung and special fried rice. All was very good as it always.Added to this, half a carafe of wine for $13 (excellent value). We will definitely be returning.

The restaurant is owned by brothers John and Tommy Greco along with their longtime friend Christian Tanno. The Greco name should ring a bell: Chef/Restaurateur John oversees the beloved Village eatery Philip Marie (open 18 years) that serves up delicious
Nice friendly restaurant providing very good steaks, the Filet Mignon was superb. The whole experience was good until payment time. Unfortunately the experience was ruined to some extent by a waiter who chose to overcharge an item on the bill &, instead of discreetly apologising & removing the overcharge, took the option to loudly & repeatedly 'argue his case' in front of all the diners. Regretably the Management, who where in earshot, chose to ignore the issue until we asked the waiter to call the Manager to our table - only then did they remove the overcharge from the bill.As stated above - good food but I would suggest that all potential diners keep an eye on their bills. Scoring would have been higher if the overcharge incident had been dealt with properly.

This place never disappoints. The food is good, the portions are generous, the atmosphere is lively and the prices are more than reasonable. They also have valet parking, though I choose to park on my own.

An authentic Argentinean restaurant located in Moonachie, NJ! Serving the best cuts from Argentina. Amazing homemade empanadas, delicious desserts, and of course live tango on Thursday nights!
We drove 30 minutes to have a celebratory dinner here on a Saturday night. El Tango in Hackensack is located on Main Street but there's little parking on this busy downtown street, even on a Saturday night. We did manage to find parking on the street and walk one block, which is good, as the area had lots of other restaurants and patrons in the area. The restaurant is nicely decorated with 2 large screen TV's where the patrons can watch futbol, and the music is very hip and contemporary. There are about 10 tables and the wait staff is very friendly. The menu is varied with choices of appetizers, salads, entrees and sides, with heavy emphasis on the meats, although there was a small selection of seafood and pasta options. Our party of 5 ordered a meat sampler (times two) and several sides, as well as a shrimp appetizer and empanadas appetizer. The appetizers were very good but the meat sampler was only mediocre. The short ribs were very tough, the blood sausage was only ok and the sausage was mediocre. What we really liked on the platter was the flank steak and grilled chicken, and the sweetbreads were surprisingly tasty. The sides were average - salad, tomatoes and red onion, potato salad and beet salad. I was very surprised at the beet salad which was basically a sliced hard-boiled egg tossed in red beets which were definitely from a can. I eat beets often and this is what they look like in a can. It's a BYOB which is nice as it saves you $$. Not sure I'd drive all this way to return but if I were to return, I'd only order the flank steak as an entree.

Established in 1994. Welcome to PIO PIO, our "Casa Alegre" (Cheerful House), New York City's Premiere Peruvian restaurant group since 1994, specializing in Pollo a La Brasa (Rotisserie Chicken), authentic cuisine from Peru and our famous "Green Sauce"!. W
We are regulars at Pio Pio on 10th Avenue. This one seems more like a fast-food version. The service was efficient, but the food didnât seem vibrantly fresh. The sangria was so poor we complained to the management (who didnât do anything about it).Sadly, we came here with friends because we didnât want the 10th Avenue branchâs loud music and noise, where we go by ourselves and donât have to talk. The ambience seemed more fast-food, plain and utilitarian. Itâs odd that I would love to take friends to 10th Avenue in the stunning an dramatic décor but canât stand the noise level, yet I wouldnât bring them here for a fast- food décor even though the noise level was minimal.
