Llamas, sheep and alpacas roam the plains of Puno, a port city in southeastern Peru. Their fleeces are used to make the area’s signature textiles, which make excellent souvenirs. You’ll do a lot of walking here, as many of the streets are too steep for cars. But the climbs are worth it for the excellent views of Lake Titicaca. Take a boat to the Floating Islands or get up close and personal with the four-legged locals at a llama farm.

The Incabar Salon was our unofficial treehouse from which we comfortably observed three days of the Candalaria celebration in Puno. We started with a drink one evening, came back for a meal the next day by the third day had rented a balcony table for an entire 12 hours of celebration. During that time the staff was friendly, the service was prompt, and the various meals we enjoyed were fine.Meanwhile, the parade continued beneath our window and we enjoyed our perch above the festivities on the Plaza de Armas.

People in Peru have some different menus. Trying to try something unusual, I tried the alpaca. It was delicious and was supposedly low in fat. Delicious!

Great breakfast buffet. They were confused in the evening when we inquired about dinner they said only the special was available. They misunderstood or misanswered and the full menu would have been available. This resulted in our whole tour group getting in cabs and going downtown except one couple. They said dinner was extraordinary and asked why we all left. Clarify with front desk in you own language what is exactly available and stay for dinner.Dear Guest:Thank you for your comment we are sure that help us for the improvement of the services in our restaurant we really apologized for the incident. We hope that you can come back any time.Best Regards,Federico Moore LigardaManager Sonesta Posadas del Inca Lago Titicaca Puno

Stumbled by this place while walking around at lunchtime. Didn't look like much from the outside but luckily I decided to peek inside.. Simply an excellent place for seafood!Following the complementary fish soup, I had a DELICIOUS ceviche (S./15). The dish was both generously large and beautifully prepared.Other dishes which I saw arrive at other tables were both beautiful and big. Unfortunately I wasn't hungry enough to order anything else!Service was exceptionally good - professional and friendly.

We had dinner, mainly local crowd here. Grilled meet (beef, alpaca) with fries were excellent quality. They also had the cheapest and best pisco sour! Definitely recommend this restaurant.

La Choza de Oscar is still great and as we remembered it from our first visit 9 years ago! This time we brought our daughter and her fiance to help me celebrate my birthday! The food was delicious, cooked just right and well presented on the plates. I had the quarter chicken that they BBQ and it was very moist and tasty. The rest of the group had various pates of alpaca meat. The way they stack their fries is cool. Good selection of vegetables and salads were also on the plates. Everyone enjoyed their meals and it was such a treat to have the dancers perform their folk dancing and musicians play various instruments including some amazing pan flute songs!! Thanks so much to the manager, staff and musicians for the 'happy birthday' surprise songs and chocolate cake! You made our night very special...

We wanted to visit this place, 12th of June 2019, but couldn't find it. Eventually checked the housenumbers and discovered that it doesn't exist anymore.
