Find out what Latin restaurants to try in Managua. Six thousand years ago, human footprints were left in the volcanic mud along the shores of Lake Managua. Preserved over centuries, these footprints can be seen at The Museum of Acahualinca in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. In addition to the footprints and impressive collections of pre-Colombian artifacts in the city's museums, Managua has much more to offer. The Tiscapa Lagoon Natural Reserve is a watery retreat within the city, with bars, shops, ziplines, and a canopy ride with views of downtown.

There are two locations in Managua. It is a restaurant specially for Nicaraguan steak dishes âchurrascoâ. Decoration, furnishings, tables, everything well set. Well dressed waiters and well trained. Medium range prices, about $12 for a main dish. This is the ideal place for people who like to have a good steak in Nicaragua. Recommended.

Normally, i wouldnt like a restaurant with no variety.....but more than likely if you go to a quesillo shop, you are probably going for one specific food.......quesillos. And El Pipe do quesillos well. Tasty, decently priced. hot and fresh. Right on the highway. would definitely recommend.

This is a gem of a restaurant starting with its outdoor seating area on a corner. The outdoor seating area is spacious and has a breeze that blows thoughout the area keeping the space cool! We were quickly seated and asked for our drink order which was brought out quickly along with a complimentary salad. We all ordered the "Puyazo Campestre". The meat comes with an accompaniment of "gallo pinto" which is a native Nicaraguan dish consisting of rice and beans, and potatoes of your choice - grilled or french fried - or plaintains. The meat was tender and cooked as requested and the "gallo pinto" was one of the best I have tried! I will revisit this restaurant again to try the other offerings on the menu.

Great Churrasaco, salad, rice and fries.......very good desserts Only complain is the bad quality of their coffee......sad but do not know why the quality of coffee served in Managua's restaurants is terrible .......for good coffe afterwards you have to go to Cafe Las Flores o Casa Del Cafe ....

We had a good time having Nicaraguan Food coming back from visiting the Masaya Volcano (an amazing experience since the volcano is currently active). The Quesillo was great, and the Cacao drink was also great. A lot of locals really like this restaurant because of its location, even though is a bit expensive compared to other "Nicaraguan Food" places.

WOW, I had heard about Acholado: my friends said it was pricey, but really good. Having eaten Peruvian food IN Peru, I was a bit skeptical...but boy, was I pleasantly surprised! First off, the ambiance grabbed me: clean lines, modern interior with a colorful chalkboard "specials" menu with at the entrance, dark wood touches and bench-style seating on comfy orange cushions. The menu is also a graphic designer's delight with descriptions of the traditional dishes. Besides different Piscos, they offer a varied menu of cocktails: all of the ones my friends ordered were delicious. Then, there's the food...another WOW, both artfully and tastefully done! I ordered the "original" Causa: mmm, a delicious play of flavours on your palette! Even their desserts wow'ed me: friends loved the arroz con leche while the Suspiro limeño was sublime. If you want to treat yourself, this is the place to go!

Nicaraguan traditional food
I lived in Nicaragua many years ago and always went to La Cocina de Doña Haydée. It was so nice to return after 15 years and taste the delicious food. The ambiance was really nice with live guitar playing and singing local Nicaraguan songs. Waiters and singers were, as always, very polite.Try the quesillo, repochetas, queso frito and the sampler plate to taste almost everything.

I met Becky, the owner of this restaurant, and she was readily able to accommodate my vegetarian diet and allergies. I tried many items and all were delicious! The staff and service were excellent. I loved the tropical feel with the gardens and fountain (complete with birds) on the patio. I will definitely return for another meal on my next trip to Managua.
