I love Korean food, especially the side dishes and most of all, Kalbi Ribs. I really wanted some so stopped in to House of Seoul in the early afternoon and ordered it off the dinner menu for $16! I had the dining room all to myself as the small dishes were brought in, followed by purple (!) rice and a huge, sizzling platter of Kalbi ribs. They were so hot I started in on the side and pickled dishes. The fish cakes were incredible. The Kimchee not too spicy. The pickled dishes were very delicious and the potato strings went well with the ribs. Oh, the ribs! So flavorful!! Yes, I was in heaven - everything I hoped for. Somehow, I was able to finish them off but it's a big enough serving to share. And the lunch serving is smaller, I'm told.House of Seoul is not my goto place for Kalbi ribs!

Please note:This review is for the location in Spokane WA on Third Street. The first thing I noticed when I walked through the door was how much the owners have improved the decor for the restaurant its former life as an Artic Circle (burger joint). The interior shows simple, Asian elegance and the small space is very well used. The food was excellent and fresh. The bento boxes are huge meals. Their tempura is the best I've had in the area. Unlike other places, their tempura is crispy and not greasy. Their tofu salad was yummy. My step daughter enjoyed her yakisoba. None of us care much for sushi; so we can't comment on the raw fish. Three of us ate: tea, full meals and a side salad for $45.00. I thought the prices were quite reasonable given the quantity and quality of the food. The husband speaks with a slight accent and the wife, at times, appeared to have a bit of a language barrier. However, the service was still attentive. They were very willing to please. We will definitely be back.
