The new owners have taken a good thing and made it even better. Sushi is excellent and the service is very friendly and efficient. Try the Legend Dragon Roll!I eschew the all-you-can-eat sushi places that are so prevalent these days. Sakura Island is an island of calm with excellent food. Recommended!

Good fresh sashimi. Excellent mackeral. Nice beer options, even Sapporo at a reasonable price. Plenty of good sushi options. Some great combinations. Loved the tempura, yakitori & various other skewered grilled meats & vegs, also very nice seaweed salad, and quite good, hot tonkatsu & chicken katsu. The baked salmon sushi was an interesting one, new to me, and quite delicious. Whatever wasn't one person's favourite, at least two others in our group of 4 loved. Extra wasabi & ginger, no problem. All in all, quality exceeded what I've usually found in this sort of place.I see a few reviews have complained about add-on items not included in the AYCE menu but whether it was confusing in the past I don't know; all I know is it's simple & clear now, and also that's pretty standard. Tea & water are included, not beer. A couple of special sashimi/sushi choices are clearly marked as extras: you could hardly mark them on the order sheets without noticing as they have their own section. Someone wrote that you're only allowed up to 5 items -- no, no, that's silly. They just prefer that you don't exceed 5 dishes per ordered round or your table is going to get totally coverered in platters all at once and you'll overload the kitchen too. One dish can be several rolls of sushi or several pieces of tempura, etc. Just save some room for the next round. The service is great, fast, attentive & helpful, so no worries. Two of our gang have lived in Japan and were not disappointed. It's not quite what you can get from a seaside town but it's pretty darn good for Waterloo! And the ice cream at the end was also terrific. Several options. One scoop or else extra $-- sorry, dessert-fiends. But I think you'll be so satisfied from everything being delicious that you can expect little room left to stuff in much dessert anyway.

We've now been 3 times. Twice is was a home run, the third time it was off main hours and we may have had chef's with less experience - was still good, but just not quite as good as the other times. The food is incredibly fresh and is some of the best sushi I've had. My favourite was the deep fried tuna rolls.

My husband and I ate here for the first time tonight while we were in town for a conference. We absolutely loved it! What a creative all you can eat menu, we loved the carpaccio plates, skillet corn, prosciutto roll and my husband especially loved the deep fried mars bars!! We will for sure be back. If you are in the KW area this sushi place is an absolute must!!!!

We do serve over 168 Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai Buffet Items in our All You Can Eat Menu, which includes fresh seafood, Beef, Chicken and etc. We strive to provide a satisfying dining experience for our customers!
I would have never guessed, in an unassuming suburban mall, to find such good value and good quality in a restaurant. I had the lunch buffet, and between the cold table already out there and what we ordered on the iPad at the table, there was an incredibly large variety. Literally something for everybody, no matter what their dietary issues might be.
