Things to do in Stockton
The restaurant had about 3 tables available by the time we were seated, so pretty full on a Saturday night of the weekend before school starts. We waited 45 minutes for our order. Most unfortunate because we didn't expect to wait that long for dinner considering we got seated within 3 minutes of arrival. Seemed understaffed. Food is delicious and presentation dramatic. Prices are pretty high though. An average of $25/person for dinner.Very noisy too. So if you're hoping to have conversation without speaking loudly, consider going elsewhere. When the restaurant is full, it's just too noisy for normal speaking volume.A good place for sushi but poor service and high price are areas for improvement. This is my third visit and 2 out of 3 times the restaurant seemed understaffed.
Japanese food enthusiasts should stop by and try out Shomi in Stockton, CA This restaurant has been in Stockton for years, and has been an all-time favorites for many of the locals. I have had many different dishes throughout the years from Teriyaki to friend oysters, and never had a complaint. In fact, the food is high quality and everything is cooked fresh upon order. This restaurant has been at its location for many years and in recent years it has expanded and enlarged its restaurant and extended its hours to meet the high demand of its many patrons. Shomi is located at the north end of the Lincoln Village Shopping Center in Stockton, CAIt is "the" place for fine Japanese food, at a reasonable price. On top of great food, we must not forget the great service from Andrea and Chelsea. Very charming and hospitable.

This was the first time visiting this restaurant and had a great time. The atmosphere is one of fun and good food. You are in group seating around a grill where the chief prepares everyones dinner right in front of you. The food presentation is very good and the delightful, energetic entertainment of the chief is great. The menu has something for everyone and pricing is modest. Location is a little difficult to find but worth it. Recommend you arrive early as the later dinner hours are very busy.
Restaurant was clean and service was prompt. Server was very friendly, helpful and engaged in conversation. It was a pleasant dining experience. They were able to custom order vegetable sushi for us so that was wonderful. We were all very happy with our meals.

First time at Domo and definitely not impressed. Loud soft rock music not conducive to a Japanese restaurant. Pot stickers and shrimp vegetables tempura were good. The beef teriyaki was unlike any we have seen before. Bite size chunks of chewy beef covered in whatever they pass for teriyaki sauce. The entree was cold - both the rice and the beef. Won't be back.

We are fortunate in Stockton to have several very good Japanese restaurants. RAW is by far my favorite of all of them. The staff is very good about making suggestions for new things to try. One of the owners is there daily and is always watching to make sure that things are going well. It is a little noisy so if you are looking for a quite intimate location this may not be place but for any other get togethers it is by our far out first choice.

This restaurant is crowded and a little too dark. The fish was not cut cleanly making the size inconsistent and taking away from the overall presentation. The service also lacked. The taste of the sushi was inconsistent and unimpressive. I will not be returning to this place and do not recommend it.

Misaki is located next to the Cinema in downtown Stockton. They have a very nice happy hour where their sushi is almost half off! It's also nice to go before or after the movies. The sushi is excellent, the staff is friendly. Say hi to the manager To-Nee, very friendly also.
