My family lives here in Brittany and is from California and NY...so we're accustomed to authentic Japanese (or Japanese-American, because I'm about to mention California rolls) flavors. You're NOT going to get those at this restaurant. They use the wrong kind of rice, so it's heavy and pasty; and as far as we could tell, they used no seasoning. Literally, they offer a pea-sized portion of flavorless wasabi and the most miniscule portion of ginger imaginable. The miso soup is super watery. Instead of sesame seeds or fish roe around larger maki rolls, they use what looks and tastes like store-bought fried onion shreds. The place IS nice and clean, and the service was fine. Plus the fish itself was fresh (and actual crab in the California roll, bonus!) But at the first bites, we were quietly laughing that the very French chef somehow managed to make food that looked passably Japanese but tasted utterly French (like warm and savory instead of bright and vibrant). And that's how it sometimes goes here in France--gotta play to the crowd! Just know before you go and shell out all that money for what a surprising number of French diners proclaim to be the "best, most authentic Japanese food" in the area.

Nous mangeons régulièrement japonais, câest de loin un des meilleurs où nous avons mangé. Le cadre est pas exceptionnel mais les sushis sont top. Nous avons pris la formule royale pour 4, câétait top !

went here with my friend because she loves sushi--problem--I don't---we were both happy with this place--she had (of course) fresh sushi and I had a choice of different cooked meats --I choice the skewered chicken/beef/cheese with rice---we enjoyed together a fresh miso soup and an asian version of coleslaw salad--they have a nice wine list and desserts as well- the staff was very friendly and was fluent in english--the atmosphere is very modern and right in the center of the historic district --they offer a lunch menu--the place looked stacked with locals and they seem to have a thriving take out service as well--they also offer free wifi which is an unusual treat
