A friend and I dined at Nagoya this evening. He had sushi and I had a very large bowl of vegetable udon soup. My friend said the sushi was basic but very fresh. My soup was supplied with a very large amount and variety of vegetables with plenty of broth. The prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. I ended my meal with red bean ice cream, which is a pleasant way to end the meal. The service was very efficient but not necessarily warm or hospitable. It is not that the service was bad but rather, not very welcoming. However, since the restaurant wasn't very crowded, we weren't rushed out and could linger for about 15 minutes after paying the bill.
This Sarku does have decent food in a clean environment at a reasonable price. I was not impressed though with the attitude of the staff. No smiles; cashier rested head on hand while ringing guests up as if exhausted and/or bored; counter staff pushed food over with not a word, no "thank you" or "enjoy". Three chefs looked pretty serious too. Not the end of the world-but maybe this helps explain why this Sarku had 6 people sitting and 1 on line, while next door the Chipotle barely had a seat open and had at least 30 people on line. Customer service anyone?
