Misumi is a restaurant behind a little shop (next to the fire-station). They are open for lunch and dinner. They have good set menus with huge portion sizes. Nice little place.

I was recommended this small restaurant by the tourist information office.The building has no English sign or English menu, but if you can read Japanese this is no problem. Look for the curtain that says éå½ NABE-KUNI. I ate YAKI-MESHI CHA-ZUKE which is two baked rice balls with miso paste and a warm tea broth - a local Oki favorite!

I have been to this restaurant a few times and enjoyed their seafood-bowl and soba. The restaurant is situated on the second floor next looking over the Saigo Port. It's a good option if you're in the Saigo Port area and want to go somewhere reasonably priced with options of local cuisine and seafood.

This izakaya has a nice hole-in-the-wall atmosphere, and you can tell it's a favourite with the locals and it was pretty noisy when we were there. The food was really good. I would say it is a little on the expensive side but not unreasonable. Nice friendly service. Menu might be a bit difficult to understand if you have limited Japanese but I am sure the staff would help.

This is a little place right across from the Nakamura Beach. They primarily serve seafood and some unique dishes, particularly featuring Sazae (turban shells). They have a Sazae-topped rice bowl which I really enjoyed as well as mekabu seaweed udon. You can get giant fresh oysters here either raw with lemon or sake-steamed. As the place is small if you have a large group service might be a little slow, but it's perfect if you're travelling at a relaxed pace. You can also sit outside and enjoy the beach while you eat. Recommended if you are in the Nakamura Area. I believe they are only open for lunch.

My work colleagues and I dined here as it was recommended to us by a local person.We had a "set menu" (3000yen plus drinks) which included fresh sashimi, rock oyster, kushi-yaki (skewered meat and vegetables which you can fry at your table!) and a large plate of sushi! They had a good choice of drinks also. If you are staying near the port but not eating dinner at your accommodation, then I recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant seems to be a popular place for locals and travellers. They have an extensive food and drink menu (in Japanese only, but the waitress said they are making an English menu).I enjoyed Oki soba (buckwheat noodles), sashimi and cucumber sticks with miso.
