Had dinner here two nights ago. Everything was delicious. The starter string beans are delicious and the only vegetable my son willingly eats. He also loves the octopus sashimi. All our entrees were perfect. My husband and daughter are sushi and sashimi fans while my son and I prefer the combination bento boxes. Meals are started with soup and salad. Everything is always prepared excellently. This place always satisfies.

I'm not a sushi or sashimi eater, but I thoroughly enjoy the "kitchen" entrees. I especially love the sesame chicken. I first went to this restaurant with a friend to see what it was like. We both enjoyed it. I'm not so thrilled with their choice of music or the lighting, but the service and cooked entrees have been tough to beat.

We have enjoyed their noodle dishes. Their jicama julienne salad is scrumptious. Veggie gyoza is tender, crispy and hot. Tea is served nicely in a glass pot with a candle underneath to keep it hot. They can adapt many dishes to be vegan - and the menu includes a delicious vegan ramen with spiraled zucchini noodles. The ramen bowls contain more items than listed (i.e. seaweed, mushrooms), so ask in advance if you dislike certain ingredients. They will gladly adjust the level of spice to your taste.

I have been going to this restaurant for years. They have fresh delicious sushi; I have never been disappointed. They are the only restaurant around that will make the sushi with black rice upon request. They offer many other healthy options as well. The service is always top notch; wait staff is very attentive. Every time I take friends there, they want to go back. My personal favorite is the sushi for 2 and my favorite appetizer is the sushi pizza. I will keep going back because of the high quality food and service.

We opted for a take-out dinner of healthy fare to accompany the big game rather than the traditional wings, heroes and lasagna and came away feeling sated and virtuous. Edaname was soft and flavorful, avocado salad had a ton of fresh, crisp avocado (albeit on a bed of uninspired iceberg lettuce), and our 4 rolls: volcano (spicy tuna); crazy salmon: Philadelphia (salmon, cream cheese and avacado); and tuna & scallion were all very good to excellent and very fresh. The only complaint was the lack of selection among specialty rolls if you don't eat crustaceans as most feature crab, shrimp or eel.

Kashi is a Japanese restaurant with modern decor. The various dishes that we tried were well prepared & tasty. However, diners who don't appreciate spicy hot dishes should beware. Of the roughly 20 special rolls on the menu, 18 of them were highly spiced. That trait was evident in other areas of the menu as well. For example, the starters were mostly all fiery. So, if you avoid hot dishes, Kashi will offer you very few options. We had to default to plain salmon or tuna rolls. Finally, diners should be ready to listen to modern pop music played over substantial speakers throughout the meal. Not technically objectionable, but not in keeping with a Japanese restaurant either.

Went impromptu last night for my husband's birthday. We actually went somewhere else first but their dining room was closed for a party. So I went on Groupon and saw this was closeby. (I'm weary about trying new sushi places because we don't want to have a negative experience over the toilet later on (you get my point?) Komo is located in the heart of Bellmore on Bedford Ave so there is ample parking. We sat right away but during our dinner, the restaurant filled up nicely. The waitstaff was super pleasant and always had a smile. The menu has a nice selection. Lunch specials looked like a good deal but we were here for dinner. He ordered a spicy girl roll and a nemo roll. He said they were really fresh and delicious. I had the Maki B special which was very good. Maki B on the menu said spicy tuna, spicy salmon but that just means chopped fish in a spicy mayo sauce. I don't like mayo so these rolls weren't my favorite. I asked if they could make the rolls with the whole strip of fish and I would pay extra but the young lady said 'that's how it comes.' I thought a maki roll meant a cone shaped hand roll? Other than my confusion, the fish is fresh. Try to stay with menu selections because there can be an issue with any substitutions. Other than that, we really enjoyed our first visit to Komo-sorry it took us so long but we usually stick with the tried and true sushi places we've been to over the years. They've proven themselves, and now so has Komo!
