Find out what Japanese restaurants to try in Murmansk. Murmansk (Russian: Му́рманск, IPA: [ˈmurmənsk]; Kildin Sami: Мурман ланнҍ; Northern Sami: Murmánska; Skolt Sami: Muurman) is a port city and the administrative center of Murmansk Oblast in the far northwest part of Russia. It sits on both slopes and banks of a modest ria or fjord, Kola Bay, an estuarine inlet of the Barents Sea. Its bulk is on the east bank of the inlet. It is in the north of the rounded Kola Peninsula which covers most of the Oblast (semi-autonomous region). The city is 67 miles (108 km) from the border with Norway and 113 miles (182 km) from the Finnish border. The city is named for the Murman Coast; an archaic term in Russian for Norwegian.

This location is the largest Kruzhka in town. It has good food and good service, but it is also a nightclub environment and after nine in the evening the sound is almost unbearable. Right now that are having a 2 for 1 on the lower priced Sushi!

I cannot commend on food since I didn't order any, but whatever I saw looked just great. The drinks were great though :)

The most popular but the best net of restaurants in Murmansk. This net good corresponds sociology of Murmansk: neither aristocracy, nor beggars. Kitchen for Russian middle class: village design, meat, much meat, beer, big portions. But for many years a part of Murmansk citizens are tired a little from Kruzka and last year we see experiments to add sushi, non traditional dishes, cakes etc. But the nuclear electorate is faithful long term hits: sausages for students, pork steaks, salmon steaks and salad "Caesar". Ever if you don't like and avoid Kruzka, somebody invites you.

2-stored complex of bar, restaurant and bowling. At the ground floor- bar with discussible design mixed of Victorian style and antique. Plus- serious men, expensive prostitutes and a little bit cheaper alcohol drinks. Upstairs - bowling and restaurant. Kitchen here- rather good!

Very democratic place with nice variety of food and drinks. Prices are affordable quality of food is very good. Relaxed atmosphere, just the music is a bit too loud, which is no wonder as after 23:00 it turns into sort of disco. But still worth visiting.

Noticed this place from a taxi as we drove by, it can hardly be missed, its mock Chinese design stands out a mile in this city where Soviet-era, grey, and rectangle buildings abound. Inside, the décor is lovely and the service is actually quite good. The menu (they have ONE English menu! - but the Russian version has pictures) is the usual mish-mash of Chinese, Sushi, and 'European' dishes, so was expecting the usual bland Russian interpretation of Asian cuisine. Could not have been more wrong. The Goa soup was VERY spicy, and I'm used to Vindaloos served in Ireland, the locals must be blasted to the Cosmos when they try it! Had Chicken dynasty for main course - again this was very tasty. Go for one of the fried rice dishes as opposed to the boiled rice, which was a bit on the sparse side. If you're stuck in Murmansk for whatever reason, and hankering after something exotic and spicy, this place is a pleasant surprise!

This location is one of several in Murmansk. It is a little out of the way and smaller than others, but the food is good. I would recommend the Chicken Caesar Salad and the Chicken Kabob.

There is a network of these places in the city. I'd call the place "democratic" but it is a little bit too expensive for what a "run-in-and-eat" type of place. Massive wooden tables and benches, resistant to ... intensive Russian's personality are comfortable just enough for a pair of hours you'll spend here for food. There is more comfortable seating sometimes available if you are lucky. Food quality varies on day of the week (Thursday and Friday night you have better chance to get better food, Monday is less advisable day to visit) but still quite good for a Bistro. That applies to service too. Sometimes it's good, sometimes a little disappointing, but generally, if you don't have too high expectations you'd be satisfied. Don't forget 10% tip, rounded up to next 50-100 rubles as a customary in Russia.
