We both found this spot after we were doing the tradition of bending over (forward position) and viewed the long sand bar between our legs. It was located in Kasamatsu Park in the 2nd floor. There was nothing special except it was a good spot to take a picture for couple, during a good weather, with long sand bar in the background. We didn't dine in nor check what the restaurant had offered since we were rushing ourselves to complete such a short trip to Amanohashidate. But again, the weather was not really nice when we arrived in Kasamatsu Park but we glad we did visit this place as it was quite unique.

The cafe is attached to a big shop just up the path from the ferry. It looked nice and welcoming on a rainy day.We were made very welcome and we even had a visit from the owners 2yo son who I think was curious to see who was visiting! His grandfather took him in to the shop next door which seemed to be his. There was plenty of choice revolving mainly around noodles and local produce. Menu had pictures which made it easy to choose. We tried the sardines which were served warm in the tine! Very tasty. We both had the ramen with tempura and enjoyed it. Lovely broth.Very pleasant family run place for lunch.
One of the best Udon I had in my life. Apparently I was the first to use the English picture menu. The daughter of the owner made it. She studied tourism in Europa, so she could speak English well. Very special because in this city barely anybody speaks English.I had the Udon with Tempura Chicken in a thick broth with fresh onions and ginger. Tasted super nice !

My wife and I had sushi dinner on one weekday without reservation. Since this is a small restaurant and all the tables were occupied by the people with reservation, we were seated at the counter. The window behind the owner chef is designed to give you a nice view of Amanohasidate. The set menu came with either 11 or 13 pieces of nigiri-sushi with miso soup for about $30 or $40 per person. There were very few other options without reservation. The sushi we had were very fresh and the way he prepared the rice part was beautiful with subtle softness. Highly recommended. The owner chef told us that he had opened this establishment some 10 years ago with the intention of preparing sushi with the best possible local ingredients. He gets his fresh fish from fishermen from the Yoro region, some 20 or 30 minutes away by car, of the Miyazu Bay.You must be driving to get to Sesshu-Ann and it might be difficult to locate it as the sinage along the highway are given only in Japanese. It's about 25 minutes from the JR Amanohashidate Railway Station area or less than ten minutes from the Fuchu region proper by car.Besides dinner, lunch is also offered on a daily basis, but reservation is necessary, especially on weekends and national holidays.

We had an early dinner (about 5:00pm) in the Ramen shop and there were just two guests before us! This is a very small establishment run by one staff so be prepared to wait!We ordered one bowl of Kujikara Ramen (¥650) and Chicken White Soup Ramen (¥800). While the Kujikara Ramen wasn’t my liking, the Chicken White Soup Ramen was so rich and perfectly executed! What a blessing to have a bowl of good ramen on a cold windy evening! The restaurant is located very near to the JR Amanohashidate Station so be sure to check it out!

Located at the junction/entrance to Amanohashidate, this is a restaurant attached to Taikyourou Ryokan. I order the superior seafood bowl & their famous gourmet pine needles juice. The bowl r combination of kaisendonburi, suimono & kōnomono. Seafood r fresh, fried food r delicious & pickles look nice. Juice r fresh to me, first time ever having this kind of juice. This course cost me 2450yen.

This is a very traditional Japanese restaurant (shokudou) located right in front of the local train station (Miyazu Station). I remember eating here some 50 years ago with my mother and I may be tad exaggeratig if I say it hasn't changed at all! Almost always crowded with locals and nowadays more so due to tourists dropping by from all over. They have lots of fish dishes here, cooked or fresh, according to the season and the catch of the day. Everything is reasonably priced. Since they have no menu in English and some are only on the blackboard, it's difficult to order anything without getting help from someone there. Waitresses have no English. Still it's a good restaurant to try something genuinely old-fashioned Japan.
