Calming ambiance, comfortable seating, cool sushi bar. Who knew such a gem was hidden in ironstone village? Spider rolls, tempura shrimp sushi roll, not so spicy yellowtail . Seafood delight outstanding! Super fun Japanese sodas-try one! Udon noodles delicious texture was surprising but taste was amazing. Hibachi fried rice awesome! Dinner for 5 $135 before tip but lots of food and high end seafood. Only complaint is slow service but honestly it was worth the wait. Wish they had noodles or cabbage or something on the table to munch on before soups arrived. We will be back! All servers were friendly and helpful.

We all get the email about the staff meeting, and beyond a date and time, few details in between. There's moans and groans, but it's inevitable in terms of attendance. You roll into work, you prepare your notes and grab a seat, and just as the blood pressure begins to tick up a notch....they walk in with food from Vincent's...clearly a sign of promise in a world otherwise out to lay some stress across your desk.Enormous portions of sushi, all shaped and plated with precision to entice the eyes and alert the stomach to its incoming grace. We have enjoyed sushi from this restaurant on a number of occasions (each a relief to see walking into the meet & greet) and they have never disappointed...Spider roll, Tuna, Eel, Green Dragon, sashimi....its the real deal here.
The sushi at Kanamizu is consistently tasty and attractively presented at this friendly local restaurant. We always feel welcome as we enter and are greeted by the chefs and the wait staff. The bento box with tempura, dumplings, and California roll with salmon, shrimp, or chicken also includes miso soup and a salad, and the raw sushi (which I love) is always delicious. The atmosphere is simple with booths and a nicely decorated Asian flair. The sushi bar can seat about 6.Bring along your own sake and they will heat it up and serve it in the traditional style.

Over the past several years, we have stopped at Mikado for a sushi fix on our way to the Jersey Shore. We typically go off-hours (late afternoon), so for us it's never crowded, and the service is pretty snappy. This time we took daughters and boyfriends. We started with edamame and gyoza, followed by a series of rolls. The rolls are pretty good and nice sized. The flavors are also good and the fish tastes fresh. Nothing fancy, but solid, consistent food.
