Things to do in Matsusaka
Stopped at a place when I saw this nice old-style looking building with the sign “LUNCH” spelled “ランチ”. Had to take off shoes and I was led to a tatami room. Would have had to sit on the floor but knowing I’m a westerner, they offered one of the low chairs. Found out this place was a ryokan, a Japanese lodging place (hotel) that opens up its restaurant to the public. The staff spoke English so I could easily pick out my lunch. I had a great meal.
We had dinner at this steakhouse twice during our 2-week stay in the area. They even had an english menu which was great for us. The service stafe was friendly and great. We usually ordered the A-4 Set (Second Class). The Sirloin minute steaks were amazing and melted in your mouth. Next the lean meat was tender and tasty. The short ribs were really good. We grilled the meat ourselves over a neat charcoal cooker. They had an automated 1 Liter beer dispenser which was really neat to watch. Wish we had that thing in the US restaurants. Matsusaka beef is way better than American Wagyu. I've never had real Kobe beef so I can't compare it yet. Overall a good value for some great beef. Would recommend this restaurant.
11月30日迄開催中の《豪商のまち・松阪》キャンペーンに合わせ 【まつさか交流物産館】で発行されている《得々グルメクーポン、食事とデザートを各1品選択出来て 1,000円(税込)》を利用して訪問しました。メニューは【もり盛りみそかつ丼】でしたが 内容と価格面から1回の訪問で気に入りました。訪問してすぐに気に入った点は外観&内装が一般的なトンカツ屋が持つ雰囲気が無いことで、次に注文した【もり盛りみそかつ丼】が単なる[みそかつ丼]ではなく 卵を上手に使っている点です[松阪では一般的なのかは知れませんが、私自身は初めての調理スタイルで、【もり盛りみそかつ丼】は《得々グルメクーポン》での特別メニューなのか 入口の看板には掲載されてはおらず(一般的な調理スタイルでなかったので 断面写真掲載せず)]。松阪と言うと 松阪牛で有名ですが 松阪牛でなくとも 食事そのものに対するレベルが高く、その為に調理レベルも高いのかも知れないと思いました。
At first we were fascinated by their atmosphere. Traditional Japanese style restaurant with classical furniture, nice garden and room in the warehouse!Food was incredible and super reasonable!!!We ordered Matsusaka beef Sukiyaki but it cost only 3,000yen.And special 'Iseshima Summit' set menu was including Matsusaka beef Sukiyaki, Sashimi, Tempura and desert, but only 4,000yen. Amazing!We were really satisfied with their taste. Here is the best place to stop by after visiting nearby Gojyoban-Yashiki(Samurai houses)!

Matsusaka Beef
Has to find a Matsusaka Beef place that was opened early for lunch and ended up here as a result. Got in at 10am and had no difficulty placing our order despite no one there who could speak English. We were promptly given an English menu and ordered the Matsusaka (i) prime beef shabu shabu and (ii) prime beef steak-JPY13.5k for 230g. In the menu, its stated the latter is a rare cut from only 10kg out of a 600kg Matsusaka Beef Cattle. It was all a treat, tender, juicy, delicious. Worth every penny and every bite.

I was your traveling on business and we did the Matsusaka beef. Service was excellent and the food was just as incredible. Nice family run business I met the mother and the two sons that operate the entire thing. We did the special tasting with the Matsusaka special reserve and they have a great traditional sukiyaki. When I return to matsusaka this is the place I will definitely go!

There are a few places in Matsusaka that are worth noting but Kaizu, in my opinion, is the best out there.Unlike its giant multi-story building rival, Wadakin, Kaizu has a more family-friendly feel, but still has the traditional Japanese style room and formal staff service. Sukiyaki and beef yakiniku are among some of the most popular items. The restaurant, located right along Route 42, has it's own private Japanese garden that is pruned to perfection. Most, if not all rooms have a garden view.Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating.Quality of the meat is high and you get a fair amount for your money.There are only a small handful of seating, so please make a reservation over the phone.

松阪出身の職場の後輩が、「松阪市内に美味しい焼き鳥を食べさせるお店があるので行ってみて下さい」と言って教えてもらったのが前島食堂です。ここの美味しい焼き鳥に惚れ込んでしまい、今回が5回目の訪問になります。人気店のため、昼頃に行くとかなり待つ事になるので、午後1時半過ぎに行きました。混雑を避けたつもりでしたが、約20人ぐらいの方がおられました。鶏肉の種類は、若どり、めす、キモの3種類で、秘伝の味噌ダレを付け、焼肉スタイルでコンロで焼いて食べます。私達は若どり2人前、めす1人前、とり野菜(鶏肉と白菜の煮付け)キムチ、キャベツ、ご飯を注文し食べました。安くて本当に美味しいですよ。是非食べに行って下さい。なお、松阪は三大和牛のひとつ、松阪肉の産地で、美味しい焼肉店も多くありますよ✌️

Matsusaka is famous for it's beef, so on a overnight stop here on our Mt Fuji - Kyoto bike trip we couldn't miss this.On advice the tourist information we went to Wadakin. This is fancy place, so welcome was very friendly but formal. The restaurant consists of several floors, with each floor a different theme. We were escorted to our private room where staff prepared a great meal.It's pricey (100 EUR per person) but quite a special experience!

Isshobin serves famous matsusaka beef in the way of Japanese-styled barbecue (Yakiniku). The beef, other meat, and vegetables are served raw and let the customer to grill them as their please in a smoke-free grill on the table. The menu of beef is classified by body parts. Matsusaka beef is not needed to be grilled to much and it's extremely tender, nearly melting in the mouth. Sauce and sea salt are provided to be added to beef at will, but personally I think only minimum season is needed to taste the wonderful flavor of beef itself.Matsusaka beef is so famous but also expensive, the price of Matsusaka beef at Isshobin is more affordable than other famous restaurant in Matsusaka.
