This place came recommended from the visitors info centre at the train station. Not far to walk. We had the usual Japanese, sushi, sashimi and tempura! Excellent fast service. No English spoken here so work off picture menus and hold up your fingers for quantities. Works great and don't forget your arrogatos!

This restaurant is a buffet style eatery where there is a very wide choice of food and not only Japanese cuisine is served. The setting is great with sea views and some farm animals which can be viewed. However keep away from the little brown and white pony. It bites. My wife and I often visit this establishment over a weekend and it's very popular. Most times one has to wait for a table but worth it. Very reasonable price too. It is family orientated and also has an adjoining shop which sell fresh produce form the local farmers.All in all a very worthwhile visit.

西舞鶴の港にある道の駅です。ツアー客や中高年のご夫婦の方が多く、安定感がある感じ。海鮮もののレストランや魚の直売や海鮮バーベキューみたいなものもあって、車でなかったら正直昼から一杯やりたいところ…。しかし訪問日は胃腸がお疲れだったのでニシンそばを食べることに…。まぁ味は普通…。でもかまぼこはおいしかった。

舞鶴でディナーに利用した。オーダーしたのは、あなごめしと天ぷら。あなご飯は、創業４０年以上、つぎ足しながら守ってきた自慢のタレがかかっているというヤツで、あなぎ自体が柔らかく、それでもしっかりした食感があって、やや薄味のタレとあっていて美味しかった。個人的にはもう少し濃いとうれしいがそれでも美味しかった。天ぷらは、ホタテの天ぷらを初めて食べたが、具は小さめながらも、こんなに美味しいとは！店内は、カウンター席、さじき席、廊下、トイレ、他の共有スペースは禁煙になっておりうれしい。Wifiは微弱だが、無料のモノが利用できる。支払いは現金のみ。駐車場は、道路を挟んだ対面にある。

Totogen is situated close to Nishi Maizuru station. It has sushi bar downstairs and table seating upstairs. We were driving through the town so we stopped by for lunch. We arrived at 12:15 but restaurant was full already, it’s popular amongst the locals. We got our table close to 1 pm. The wait was worthy. we ordered a sushi lunch set, an assorted sashimi and since it’s crab season, we ordered a whole crab. You can choose how the crab can be cooked and we ordered Hot pot style. Everything was very fresh, as it’s not surprising since next door is their wholesale/ retail shop. The sushi set comes with miso soup and shrimp tempura udon. Needless to say the two of us were very full but satisfied walking out of the restaurant. There is no English menu but the staff was friendly and tried to communicate with google translate. It’s not the cheapest seafood restaurant, but the quality is worth every penny .
