Kamakura reminds me of the Japanese restaurant where my family dined weekly in San Fran. The sushi is good but not extraordinary. The range of rolls offered is amazing. The fry on the termpura is perfect, as is the Nabeyaki udon. Solid reliable Japanese food at a fair price

I often dine at this place, for lunch or dinner. The personnel is very friendly, and the Japanese food is very good. The sushi and sashimi are always very fresh and tasty.

Having heard a range of horror stories about Katsu after it opened, I was planning to steer clear. However, to be fair, one of the investors came forward with a fairly public apology about the approach and an offer to local residents to come and see the change. My wife and I took him up on his challenge and here's what we found:1. The greeter on the door couldn't have been more helpful and friendly2. The barman serves a mean cocktail but they are expensive and a little over-spiced if you are going to eat3. The ambience is hip metro but doesn't really work when there are so few people there4. The waiter was a bit dozy and get some of our order wrong5. The food is good but the sauces we had, while delicious, somewhat overpowered the dishes6. The wine list was good but very expensive. With that said, any restaurant serving Chateau Musar gets a thumbs up from me.Overall, a good rather than a great experience. We will go back but probably not often given the price point.
