I came on lunch time without reservation, for 4 peoples. The staffs are friendly, with their help fortunately we can get seats. We ordered Salmon Teriyaki, Okonomiyaki, Beef Teriyaki and Rice. A little dark inside, a little warm inside. Staff were good. Food doesnât come out at the same time. Example, ordered chicken skewers and the rice came out 5 minutes after. Thai green curry is good. Beer was cold! I only had one though. Kids liked it.What is with the questions on Trip adviser about sounds, Braille and comfort animals???

Shima was pretty quiet when we went, it should be busier - the food is awesome, the chef was great, itâs lots of fun.We had our kids with us and the staff were very accommodating - our son got behind the hot plate with the chef and cooked some of our food.Teppanyaki needs great quality ingredients cooked perfectly and it didnât disappoint. Would go back. The giant prawns and tuna were the highlight Thank you for visiting Shima, I am so very pleased you enjoyed the experience and thank you for your very complimentary review. Nice to know our focus on cooking only the highest quality and fresh ingredients is noticed and appreciated.

The tuna avocado tataki appitizer set us up for a fall; it was a great balance of textures, including crumbled, deep fried salmon skin. Unfortunately, the rice for the beef bowl was under cooked and the rice for the chiraishi was too wet. Some thing that should never happen in a Japanese restaurant. Needless to say we went away disappointed and unsatiated... Food is great here and such a variety. The kimchi fries are great and so is the sticky fried Korean chicken. The pork steamed buns are delicious! Would definitely recommend. Came here on my own because my friend doesnât like sushi, but the ratings were so good I couldnât miss out! It definitely lived up to the hype!I had the set lunch menu so I could try a bigger variety of dishes and every one of them was great!! Very fresh and all had a little interesting twist setting it apart from the normal sushi restaurants. Was slightly expensive compared to other places in the area but very much worth it. And not unexpectedly expensive for good sushi :)
