Love the new look, expanded seating - all booths now, bullet train express delivery IS really express, and much more attentive service. Ordering is by iPad at each table so sushi is much fresher and less likely to be sneezed on by other patrons. Kids love the bullet train and the button pushing. Many more desserts. We will be back for more.

They don't have as much variety as the Kozo locations but the food is good. With the price of fish going up, expect less ahi in the spicy ahi bowl.
A local store (nothin' fancy) that sells sushi, fried chicken, coffee, and the owner also sells his very good original music CDs. Just a stop along the Kam Highway from Kailua to the North Shore, but don't miss it. A local Hawaiian family runs the business. The wife and mother staff the front register and the husband who is also the excellent musician makes the food and the music. Get some inexpensive sushi and and buy a CD. Enjoy real Hawaii! No real sit down place, just get your sushi or fried chicken to go and really enjoy.

The food is tasty and the Sevice is great. They allowed us to bring our own wine and had glasses for us. Small mom and pop restaurant. If they are busy service tends to slow down. Try it.
Go to Tanuki Sushi if you are searching for Uni, Aji, Hotate and other items that are generally hard to find outside of Honolulu. Their selection varies depending on what's in season, they have their best selection Thursday thru Saturday.Their dishes are a delight to the palate as well as the eye, I was impressed at the care taken in presenting their Tanuki Deluxe Bento and Kaisen Donburi.Be advised that this is a small restaurant that seats about 12 people. Their menu is constrained to sushi, sashimi, and salads as they don't have a full kitchen. This place is a must visit If you are on the windward side of Oahu and in to sushi.

We decided to try this place for lunch. We were pretty impressed for a casual Japanese restaurant. We liked the sushi the best. For the price, the fish was fresh and decent size. It's not sushi bar quality, but definitely better than Genki. We tried the spicy ahi, salmon and the spicy hamachi roll. All were very good. Our favorite casual sushi place is still Kazoku Sushi in Kapolei. But for Kaneohe, we'll definitely be back for the sushi. We also tried the gyoza. Pretty good. The soft shell crab was pretty good but a little too oily. We both liked the dipping sauce. Like a ponzu sauce. We also ordered a side order of shrimp and veggie tempura. It came with three small shrimp, two eggplant, two green beans and two carrots. The BF didn't mind it but I thought the tempura was too oily and the natter was so so. If you've had tempura in Japan, you probably won't want the tempura here. The restaurant itself is clean. Small. Cute decor. This restaurant is in a small shopping center near Safeway. Parking was plentiful and free but it was also a Monday. The service was great. Sushi came out really fast.

Adela's Country Eatery, in Kaneohe Hawaii, serves great local food from Hawaii farms.
When you think of Kaneohe, you think of beautiful beaches, warm tropical breezes and a laid back beach atmosphere. But in the center of it all is Adelaâs Country Eatery. Established in April 2019, Adela has been creating fresh made noodles every morning. But if they run out of noodles... they close! So come early and order your favorite! Adela trained in Okinawa, Japan and the Philippines to perfect these dishes! Sheâs always testing different types of noodles and ingredients, so come by often to try them all out!The best has got to be the marunggay and the Ube noodles. The bread fruit noodles is also worth the wait! All the dishes are fresh cooked in the back of the open kitchen! Check this place out and say hi to Millie in the front!

Outstanding local Japanese cuisine in a very comfortable and local setting. Service is always expeditious and courteous. I especially like the fact that I can dress comfortably in local shorts and t-shirt and not feel out of place. The food is always delicious and tasty. The teishoku dinner specials provide a complete filling meal even for the most ravenous!Prices are moderate and range from $10 to just over $20 for teishoku and dinner specials.Good service, good food, at a reasonable price, in a comfortable setting. Excellent!

Atmosphere - Cool music, most definitely suited for a younger crowd. I often see a lot of young high school/college kids hanging here on the weekends. I like the "hot pot" cooking style and they change out the plates multiple times for you.Service - Very good. Such friendly staff and they made the experience very enjoyable.Price - Very affordable (But be prepared that you get what you pay for in quality). They have an "All you can eat" option for $23.95 on the menu, which is probably the best deal you'll find anywhere. I would recommend coming here in a larger group because my husband and I could barely finish our first portions. Quality of food - I doubt I will return unless the quality of the food (Specifically the red meats) improves. The pre-seasoned beef was much better than the other options. I found it very difficult to eat the food with chop sticks (All that I saw on the table, however I didn't ask for other utensils). Meat was very chewy and they supplied us with scissors to cut the meat with...Atmosphere - Very unique. I love that the water is served in recycled bottles. The vibe of this place is different but friendly. I definitely enjoyed the surroundings.

My husband and I stopped in after snorkeling for a late lunch/early dinner. Happy Hour prices in effect, we had an amazing meal at a really fair price. As visitors to Hawaii, this was a welcome surprise. If youâre willing to take a chance on something new, Gyu-kaku is highly recommended!
