My first time at Koto's. It was wonderful. We went for lunch. 7 of us. Everything was prepared right in front of you. The service was great. Didn't need to ask for a refill. They brought the water out right away. We were also seated right away. We will go back again. 10 lunch for Chicken 12 for steak
This is the first time I've been disappointed at Koto. I ordered the Hibachi chicken which is not prepared at the open Hibachi tables, but back in the kitchen.Someone needs to whisper in the chef's ear-__ "food should not be sent out of the kitchen cold!"

Although this restaurant is good, it's not fantastic. The prep was good, the fish was reasonably fresh, tough to obtain fantastic fish in Freehold I'm sure. The prices were in line not overly high. The ambiance could have been better, by that I mean, the hostess who I believe is one of the owners, the other being the husband and chef, were just not really that friendly, not rude mind you but just not welcoming and warm. We probably will not return, we are on a quest to find a good sushi restaurant without going all the way into the city. You should try it though, it might be to your liking, as I say and in the interest of fairness, the restaurant is decent.

Nagoya is a welcome new addition to the area. My wife and I arrived about a quarter to six on a Saturday evening and the place was nearly full. It appears to be catching on. Nice to see a new business succeeding. For our appetizer we tried something called the Joy Smile, six pieces of eggplant stuffed with diced salmon and scallions and grilled. The presentation was striking (see picture) and the flavor wonderful. For our meals my wife ordered a pair of rolls (spicy tuna and yellowtail, see picture) and I had the Sushi Regular. Her rolls came out to about $10-11 and my dish cost $18 and also came with the standard salad and miso soup (both of which were fine). My sushi was good, better than nearby Wok n' Roll in Jackson but not quite as good as Ikko in Brick. That's still pretty good, since Ikko sets a high bar. When I don't feel like the ride down to Brick, however, I would definitely return to Nagoya. It is good to have good sushi five minutes from my house.

I've been here numerous times and my 28 and 25 year olds love it! They live on their own and go there or take home once a week. Its always very good. Nice atmosphere and plenty of parking as it is in a strip mall. Very good wait service too.
