This restaurant is located next (almost inside) to the station and run by the Hamamatsu Cultivated Fishery Coop - in other words you will for sure get the real Japanese cultivated eel here!Grilled eel is a Japanese delicacy and quite tasty! (Because of the shortage of baby fish, which are imported for cultivation, the prices have gone up significantly in recent years. The shortage is due to the global fishing restrictions in order to protect the fish stock and the species.) The restaurant is crowded during the lunch time due to its popularity and location, normally waiting time won't be that long (max 15 min.) and the menu here is worth waiting in the que.The restaurant serves only grilled eels and nothing else - if you are looking for something else you need to go to other establishments near by. Grilled eels are normally served on top of rice bed and they have five different kind in their menu - differences are only the amount of grilled eels served.I have been having lunch here for the past couple of years and they have never disappointed me for the quality, taste and price. (The prices have gone up significantly in recent years as I wrote already!) I am looking forward to coming back to this place for another happy lunch!

I went there just to have the famous Unagi from Hamamatsu and I chose this restaurant. The restaurant is very nice and the food is delicious. However, I think that the service could be better.

Hamamatsu is really good place to have Unagi but I donât have any good idea which restaurant is good. When I booked the hotel, they have the plan of dinner included. They gave me the voucher can use in this restaurant near from the station. Unagi was the one I have expected. So good!

We waited to be seated for 1 hour. I will not recommend anyone to be here again. Too simple, too normal, worse than expected. Gyoza was only ok to eat, actually not delicious alike buying from cheap supermarket. Price was not too high, but to compare with food, personally, there was not cost-effective. If you want to try once, it would be ok. "no second time for me"
