Reviews on Japanese food in Hakone-machi, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Nestled in the mountains, Hakone's trains, trails, and gondolas showcase the breathtaking vistas of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, including close views of Mt. Fuji. The sulfurous steam from the region's volcanic activity fuels natural hot springs, the centerpieces of the many spas and resorts.

Originally built as an annex of Baron: Heitaro Fujita in 1918, this restaurant is now a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. While gazing at the beautiful Japanese garden, enjoy the rich flavor of the meal and imagine yourself here living in th
Great food, welcoming staff, great ambiance! We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today - my wife had cold soba noodles with tempura and I had hot soba noodles with tempura. Food was very delicious and prompt. Our waitress was extremely polite and very patient with us, especially with our lack of language skills.

We stumbled into this place after exploring the sights in Hakone and it was an amazing small-town experience thatâs definitely worth a drop-by lunch. The English menu was a huge help and the prices were extremely reasonable for the quality of seafood and care that the chef puts into creating your meal. Itâs a small place and fills up quickly, so get there a few minutes before the store opens to guarantee and wait-free meal. Support local family-owned sushi restaurants when traveling Japan!

This sushi shop is a small family owned shop in the Miyanoshita area of Hakone. This restaurant features a rice bowl of horse mackerel, and other sushi was also delicious. In particular, we recommend rolled sushi of grained tuna. The price was affordable and service was OK.

Wet on recommendation and enjoyed what we ate. Disney tunes played and various Woody/Cowgirl etc toys around. Sit on wooden stools - cushions available. Keep shoes on.

We tried their specialty, grated yam soba. Itâs really food for the adventurous. We wonât try it again :pTheir curry soba wasnât nice so I donât recommend it. The rest of soba dishes were delicious. The cold soba with tempura was the best. There was a queue but it was managed very well and moved very fast.

We visited Goza for the day and was looking for lunch. This place rated very high on TripAdvisor so we thought we should give it a try. When we got there, the line was a mile long. I thought that was a very good indicator that I was a good place for lunch. The line was composed wholly of local Japanese which made it even better. It ended up being a 45min wait. Monday 11:30am. Be aware, when lining up, they call the number only in Japanese. I do karate and know my Japanese number up to 10 - I couldn't understand them calling the number over 10. I got sick of guessing and tucked the number on my hat and stood just outside the door. When It was my number, the waiter just tapped me on the shoulders to indicate I was our turn. They have an English menu so ask for the English menu if you can't read Japanese. Also note, there are two types of seating- chair and table (western style) and traditional Japanese. My legs were aching because I'm not use to crossing my legs in lotus position for lunch. I'm not normally a tofu kind of guy, but their signature tofu meal was the best tofu I have ever tasted. Their pork cutlet was amazing as well. Crunchy on the outside and really really juicy on the inside. Definitely worth the wait and I would high recommend it anyone passing the area. Lunch for 2 was about $5500 yen.

One of the dish we wanted to try during our japanese trip and we left fully satisfied. These gyoza are light and crispy and stuffed with very fresh ingredients, we ordered 4 types of them (stamina with gingko and garlic, octopus, scallops, Hakone) all very good while the first is by far the more tasty, great for garlic lovers. Hakone is the cheapest option, the others cost 972 yen. Top them up with an extra and you get a menu set with a miso soup, rice and home made pickles. Definitely a good choice and all the local workers having their (fast) lunch break here would not say the contrary I bet. Hosting a flower shop makes this recently furnished location even more friendly though modern. Well done to the owners for having resumed their business so efficiently.

Our restaurant is in collaboration with super chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa. He is one of the most popular chef in the world. Please enjoy NOBU style food & craft beer.
We had a seat at the bar and very much enjoyed watching the friendly sushi chef work his magic. We had the shiitake mushrooms and beef gyoza to start. Both were great as were the sauces. The restaurant recommends you share the main courses. This makes sense price wise (the cheapest main, chicken, was roughly 5500 yen) but the portion was just about enough for one, let alone two. It was very good, however. Service was decent except at the end when it took a very long time for our bill to arrive.

We are the NEW STYLE KOBE BEEF TEPPANYAKI STEAK Restaurant with super chef NOBU MATSUHISA!
We went for the lunch set, and it was an outrageously wonderful value! We tried their Gora Brewery wheat beer, too. Yum! I had booked reservations in advance and arrived when it opened. There were other guests there as well but w/o reservations and the place was maybe only 1/3 full. Everything was great and I highly recommend it!
