Things to do in Genting Highlands
We were invited guests here but have to say that everything from the service the venue the ambience the chef and the food was superb. Very exclusive venue and great decor with a pool in the middle. Staff exceptional attentive and couldnât be faulted. Lovely choices of wines. We ended up having at least 7 courses. Each made with such perfection. From the amazing sushi and kinky fish, scallops, wagyu and the homemade chocolates at the end. The textures and flavours so refined really difficult to describe so I will post photos to help show the attention that speciality chef Ikuo prepared for us. This should really be a Michelin star restaurant.

It was an effort to visit Genting Highlands by private car (was told as Sentral Station bus terminal that the 10 am & 11am bus full?) and it was 33 years since last visit. So I was looking for a nice lunch restaurant. Being unfamiliar with the multi-levels Resort World Genting layout, I walked passed a corridor with a few restaurants choices and decided on the Kobe Gye Takumi which looked Japanese and Korean mixed. The menu is more grilled Korean meat or Japanese sashimi or sushi or bento. I settled on the seafood lunch set - salad, sashimi pieces on rice, seaweed miso soup and bottomless green tea. The service was prompt and good with frequent top up of the hot tea. Was told that the chef was trained in Japan. Price - RM40 + taxWorth noting that the seating can be normal table/chair or Japansese low table seating with the legs under the lower raised platform. Guests needed to remove shoes if select on the later option.
Food - Ordered the hire katsu and the katsu curry. The curry was good and the hire katsu was above good. Portions were generous. We felt full.Location - opposite the cineplexService - the tall, slim malay guy was friendly so we decided to give the place a try.On my earlier trip, we looked at the menu but the wait staff was non responsive. AValue - So so as the lunch cost was just below $90 for 2 pax, just for the 2 mains.

Accepts Cash only. Use Rewards Genting card to get points, too.It was the word "Yakisoba" that stopped me at my track, to give this a try.Not really know what to expect - I ordered, with much hesitations, the Chicken (Katsu)Yakisoba set that comes with Octopus Takoyaki. It says RM22.60 for set meal. For the set meal, there is Ebi (Prawn) Yakisoba and Tamago (Egg) Yakisoba. If it had been an authentic Japanese dish, the Yakisoba would not have been fried so oily. So, maybe I should give the other dish a try on my next visit, but any Yakisoba on that set meal will not be my preference although I did finish eating up everything. The oilyness still lingers....The dining area is small. I ordered takeaway as place does not offer good sitting place.
