The sign and decor looked inviting and I was in the mood for sushi - starved after a five hour flight.I sat down at this sushi bar that was HUGE to find pre made sushi - loads of it - passing by on cold plates. Even food that is typically served warm.I asked for a tempura roll to start. It was not even tempura shrimp in the center, it was shrimp salad. Next I grabbed something that was colorful and looked good. The fish had little flavor and it was covered with unnaturally colored sauces that seemed to be "gelled" on top of the roll.It had little flavor.Striking out w Sushi ,I grabbed chicken tenders because I was tired and hungry and not interested in the sushi. It was cold, hard and it had little flavor. Strike three - don't waste your time - I'll never return to this one.

Great Sushi and atmosphere. Service was excellent and very friendly. Restaurant was full but we got great seats in the bar. Sushi rolls are unbelievable, very fresh and creative. Canât wait to try it again! Will be back for sure.

Had not been in since the restaurant remodeled. The ambience seems more authentic with the addition of the sushi bar. Bento boxes allow mixing and matching entree items and price points. I ordered the grilled salmon (with salt) and 4 pieces of sushi (Chef's choice) bento box. This was a good way to sample an array of nigiri sushi. Salmon serving was extremely small - see photo. Probably should have ordered an appetizer to round out the meal.

With over 25 years of ramen experience from Osaka Japan, our mission is to bring modern and traditional styles of ramen from Japan to the Pacific Northwest.Chanpon, okonomiyaki, donburi, cold noodles and many side dishes available.Thank you for your support.
Two Federal Way gems for Japanese food lovers are Koharu and I Love Ramen. The ramen is excellent and so is the recently added okonomiyaki (makes a big appetizer for four people). They can go head to head with ramen shops in Seattle, Bellevue, Portland and Little Tokyo L.A. They have very good gyoza too.

Being on the coast, I was hunting for all-you-can-eat sushi. Took a chance on Mikas and wasn't disappointed. The wide variety of sushi was very well prepared and tasty. There was plenty of each option available. The other non-sushi items were plentiful and well presented as well. Everything was fresh and high quality. The inside environment was very nice and comfortable. The outside of building was inviting and easy to spot from the street. The best part was the price was less than I expected, $18!You can't go wrong here if you're hankering for sushi/Asian.

I was passing through the area and really wanted sushi for dinner. There are so many restaurants serving Asian inspired cuisine in and around Federal Way; competition is high and the choice is bemusing. So I consulted reliable TripAdvisor! This one had such great reviews that I chose here. Once again the positive feedback was accurate. (how did us travellers manage before TA?!)The exterior may be a bit lacking and the interior a bit dark for my taste but the food and service was decidedly much brighter. The tables are spacious and if you prefer there are traditional Japanese eating areas too.Copious amounts of fresh green tea were provided whilst I made my choice from an extensive menu. I could then see the skilled chef put it all together. Every item I had chosen was perfectly constructed, fresh, full of flavour and simply delicious. There was no skimping on the accompanying pickled ginger or wasabi either. As is often the case with sushi and sashimi, I had over ordered, but naturally a box was provided so I could take the remainder away with me.Very highly recommended.

This was a wonderful meal and fun. We had 33 people they were able to seat us all together with 4 different chef tables. The chefs were fun, entertaining and provided delicious food. They are very efficient and top notch customer service. Would highly recommend, great for all ages, we ranged from 5 years to 85 years old!

Simply great good in a warm and comfortable environment. Their sushi excels and is far better than most sushi restaurants....and does not "break the bank."We've taken our family to Hanabi for several years and are treated as though we are part of their family. Our little grandsons each look forward to eating at Hanabi and trying "new things." Try it and don't fear the high prices that can be associated with sushi restaurants....and you'll enjoy their friendly service.

My dining companion is Japanese. As we walked into this strip mall restaurant, he groused that it probably didnât even have Japanese cooks. We were seated by the Japanese hostess/server who was wearing a beautiful pink kimono. Our two bus boys were Japanese (bowing every time they dropped something off or talked to us). I joked to my companion â âJapanese enough for you?â We thought it was a little pricey while looking at the menus, especially for sushi (but I know everything is more expensive in WA). But the service matched the prices â they brought us the hot fingertip towels. The green tea was weak. Thatâs probably my only negative feedback. The Miso soup was the heartiest Miso soup Iâve ever had â lots of tofu, and even scrambled bits of egg (like egg drop soup). I got the salmon Teriyaki and tempura dinner. The salmon was incredibly soft and moist. The tempura was the lightest batter Iâve ever had. All the vegetables were cooked to perfection. My dining companion ordered a sushi combo. The presentation was pretty, and the fish looked really fresh. Both busboys attended to us; we never had to ask for anything. Our meals came with a Jell-o dessert. Did we want coffee or peach? I couldnât imagine what coffee flavored Jell-o tasted like, so we ordered peach. I expected peach flavored Jell-oâ¦No, it was clear gelatin with diced canned peaches in it. Bleh. OK, that was my other negative feedback. But overall, nice décor, delicious food, perfect service. A little gem of a Japanese restaurant and sushi bar.
Where to eat Bar food in Federal Way: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Great ramen, good service, decent enough atmosphere. Menu has some limited vegetarian options. The bar for good food in Federal Way is pretty low, but this is probably one of the best restaurants in town. It's good for meeting up with friends or grabbing dinner while out shopping. As with all things in Federal Way, it is in a strip mall.
