Find out what Japanese restaurants to try in Colombo. Colombo is the gateway to Sri Lanka for most travelers—but don’t be tempted to simply pass through this diverse and interesting city. Take a train ride along the coast to Mount Lavinia, a popular beach, or explore the Talangama Wetland, which several TripAdvisor travelers say is the perfect place to take a break from the bustling streets of the city.

Familiar Faces, The Tatami Room, And the debate in the car on who was going to order which old favourite - and limiting my darling son to number of dishes that we could finish in a day sitting! Eating at Nihonbash is sinking into the comfort of the space of an old friend - nothing has changed. The sushi and sashimi remains the freshest and best sliced morsels to touch the tongue - the quantity, quality and service - and never discount very good value ..continues to attract the old faithful. In a turbulent and unpredictable world - It is heart warming to see how some things never change - thank you Dharshan and N Team.

It's just an average restaurant virtually on the pavement of a busy road. The standard is rather low and not suitable for entertaining guests. Also, there is no parking. We were greeted and seated well because the restaurant is full of staff. However most of them are just taking up space, standing around or watching TV or chatting. No one is really in charge of your table and as such service is poor. They do have alcohol. The basics are there but the prices are close to five star prices. A local bottle of Beer is Rs. 550/- but service is like at a very cheap bar. Their licence allows them to serve alcohol only during certain hours but if you bring in your own bottles, corkage is charged at Rs. 1,000/- per bottle on spirits and 500/- on wine. That makes it an un-viable place for drinks. The menu is basically Japanese and Sri Lankan. The Maki rolls were a terribly armature attempt, therefore we decided to give the entire Japanese menu (which is one whole side of the menu board) a skip. The seafood platter at Rs. 3,000/- was mostly over fried, compared very poorly with similarly priced platters at five star hotels and wasn't enough to go round the table. As a main its about enough for one person and as a starter only for two.The food as well as the service lacks professionalism and is like at a wayside Kade - although the prices are much higher and the curries aren't as tasty as in the Kades. Meat curries that should be slow cooked and ready to serve, are prepared in 5 to 10 minutes and a single portion costs around 1,000/- (with the extra charges) and are watery, under-cooked and terrible. Lentils which have been cooked well in advance are served without even heating the singe portions for Rs. 350/- barely had two table spoons of the curry. Many of the desserts on the menu aren't available

Considered a delicacy which is both expensive and hard to prepare, prawns are a commodity that gets less attention than it deserves. ISSO disrupts this by reintroducing prawns as an easily available fast-food in a price bracket that's affordable to a majo
Lovely place that allows to enjoy the pleasure of a range of delicacies made with prawns and a variety of seafood. It's an upscale restaurant with decent space, great ambiance with a modern vibe and attracts a trendy crowd. Staff is efficient, helpful and extends a commendable service. Prices are moderate, but absolutely worth the experience.Dear Vachintha,Welcome back to ISSO!Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. I must say that the refurbished Hilton is definitely architecturally far more pleasing than expected, especially the lobby area and what is now called the Graze Kitchen, formerly the Spices Restaurant. The renovation definitely took the jaded furnishing up a notch in the Graze Kitchen. The good news is that the beautiful pond is still visible from inside. The food is placed in a pleasing display and is a blend of Asian, Fusion and Western, with an abundance of choice. The new eating nooks give a sense of privacy which I liked very much. I believe it caters to most palates. It certainly has a good ambience with subdued lighting and attentive staff. I would ask anyone to try it out!
