Shiro of Japan of Carle Place and Glendale (The Shops at Atlas Park) New York, have the reputation for providing an exceptional and authentic Japanese dining experience at affordable prices for more than thirty years.
Shiro of Japan is a Long Island tradition for hibachi cook in front of you dinners. I have been going here for years. It has out lasted numerous other chain hibachi restaurants that have opened and closed in the neighborhood. Itâs the same menu they have always had with the onion soup, ginger salad and hibachi entree with rice and vegetables. The live entertainment is the chef cooking your dinner.

We came in for a very late lunch on Friday. Actually we have been the only costumers as it was almost 4pm. Food was excellent - especially the Sashimi I had.The waitresses were both very friendly and took as well care of our toddler who felt in love with them

My husband and I went to celebrate his birthday at Koiso and it was a fantastic culinary experience! We ordered the omakase - which is courses by the chef's choice and we were served 6 courses of delicious goodness. The first course was a crispy eggplant with scallions and ginger - the natural sweetness of the eggplant really showed through. Second course was a fried croaker fish. The third course of fried cod fish on a bed of mayonnaise lettuce was very crispy on the outside and nice and flaky on the inside. Fourth course was a Japanese mountain vegetable nabe a which was delicious chicken and beautiful mountain vegetable In a fragrant vegetable broth. My favorite part of this dish were the crispy rice rolls - which were extra crispy on the outside and the rice on the inside had absorbed the wonderful aroma from the broth. The fifth course was a sushi and sashimi platter which was very fresh and my favorite was the super fresh and sweet clam. I could have those all night! To top off this culinary evening of delights, our dessert course was fried green tea ice cream - which was gorgeous! We're definitely going back to Koiso for their friendly service and fantastic food!
