This restaurant is located in Westfield shopping centre and is a good location for a weekday lunch. The service is reasonably prompt and you can order via screens that are positioned on the wall next to each table. Our group of 4 had a booth to ourselves. Meals were generally around the $20 mark. I had the Mix Toji Teishoku, which was $19.80 and was very filling and delicious. It came with rice, miso soup and you could also order pickles at no additional charge. They accept cash or credit and they don't charge a fee for credit cards.

The food was FABULOUS....!!! Unfortunately, despite the well-groomed and obvious experience in the wait staff, they were somewhat ambivalent toward us - each paying $240 for food alone one would expect a little warmth toward the guest....none...!!!As we sat, we were asked if we were celebrating something special to which we replied yes, we were - at no point did the ask what we were celebrating or if we enjoyed the course as it was cleared....just going through the motions of clearing and delivering the next course...!!! Scripted descriptions of the delivered food with zero interaction....!!Sadly, we had been looking forward to this dining experience for ages and we were extremely disappointed....!!!

We decided to go to Yayoi for dinner because of all the good reviews. We ordered 2 x set menus: Salmon Teriyaki & Chicken Karaage; The chicken dish was nice and tasty but the salmon dish was dried and rubbery as it was way over-cooked, not pleasant at all. Service could had been better as we had to ask multiple times for our drinks.Dear Judelaw, First of all, thank you for dining at YAYOI.We’re so sorry for making you disappointed with our meal, as well as the staff service. I will share the information with the kitchen crew so that they don’t serve any over-cooked meal, including Salmon Teriyaki. Also, we will spend more time for our hall crew training in order to make sure that customers would not have to call our staff multiple times for drinks. We appreciate your honest feedback and we’ll do our best to ensure it will never happen again.Best regards,YAYOI manager
