My first review online on tripadvisor EVER!Do not eat here....seriously.Little whole in the wall - seating at tables 24ish people . Stepped over beer boxes (full) to get to the bathroom. We arrived today @ 5:40 and the place was busy. We waited (our choice) for 30 minutes for a table and got in 6:10. We ordered drinks and food for the kids immediately ( avocados roll, miso, sashimi, cucumber roll). Got our drinks and forgot my sons...got that 15 minutes later after asking twice. Some food came out right away for the kids, cucumber roll, miso, sashimi followed and the avocados were no where to be seen! The wives ordered chicken boxes while the men ordered all you can eat (whoops!) The wives came out very quickly and while the kids we're finishing we still had'nt seen any of the all you can eat nor the kids avacado rolls. 45 (FORTY FIVE) minutes in and we finally get a tray of rolls - the tray of rolls was 90% RICE. You could not taste anything else! We had ordered around 15 items and this first bunch brought 6 and the rest of our family was done.1hr20min ( ONE HOUR TWENTY) into our dinner I ask the waiter where our food is as I see tables around us who came after us we're all eating. He left and came back with another roll, we did not see any of the premium (1 per person) rolls make our table not the sushi yet. 1hr30min ( ONE HOUR THIRTY) the avacado rolls turns up along with 1/2 our sashimi. At this point the kids and we were done! Really? 1:30 minute wait for sashimi and avacado rolls???It was bad...very very bad. All you can eat was a rip off and we cancelled the rest that we were waiting for. The wives enjoyed the chicken boxes but with 3 kids we left after investing 1:45minutes of our lives...do not do the same.It was evident the quality difference with the all you can eat vs. off the menu. We both had california rolls and our rice was 2 to 3 times thicker with 1/2 the filling.I did complain and they did take 25% off our whole bill which was appreciated (thanks Gabriel) however we only got 1/2 our order and the kids we're not going to make it for a 2hr dinner! They also took off the avacado rolls that took 1 1/2 hours LOL really they we're going to charge....By far the worst I've seen!Sushi in the desert....my god man I should have applied common sense.
Disappointed. I enjoy Nobu and my experiences over the years in various cities.Service is thin and I would suggest that hard working people there are under resources and the restaraunt too thin on labor. I understand containing costs but the risk of running lean is poor service. Again, the staff were friendly, but I hope management will take lead to hire, train and resource the floor staff. Our dishes were reliable and we enjoyed the evening. Everyone in our party wished the experience was more aligned with our other visits to the other Nobu's we have enjoyed. We will return in four months or so, to see if things have improve and update the review in all fairness. There is great potential resting at this Nobu.

Enjoy authentic Teppanyaki dining in Palm Desert, CA at Mikado Japanese Steakhouse located in the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa Dining. We offer a classic Japanese menu with locally grown ingredients and a sushi bar.
12 of my family members met up in Palm Desert California and we ate out the first night at Mikado. The age range was from four years old to 72 years old, with the four-year-old not normally staying in one place for longer than five minutes. They took our order and then our chef came to the table to cook our food in front of us. We have done restaurants like this many, many times because my five grandchildren love the entertainment that accompanies the eating. Well, no one was prepared for how funny our chef would be. He told jokes and constantly interacted with everyone at the table. So much so, that even after almost 2 hours, the four-year-old had not moved an inch from his seat. He not only told jokes, but interacted with everyone so it was a floor show as well as a meal. It was pricey, I will say that. However, I felt like I was not only paying for dinner for 12, but also play paying for a night of in entertainment for 12 as well. It was loud, crazy and fun for all of us. And to top it off, the food was really good!Dear Guest,Thank you for such a prefect review. We truly appreciate all feedback that is provided to us! We look forward to welcoming you again whether for business or pleasure.

Just had my mom bday dinner with a table of 7 of us and we had an amazing great dinner with friends and family. The Tuna Tower was fresh and tasty, all of the combo plates were great and comes with nice Miiso Soup and Salads. The rolls were big and great quality. We will be back to Misaki soon.

I have hearing difficulty in one ear, especially in the presence of background noise. Okura was a bit too noisy last Monday. Other than that minor issue, the food and the service were excellent. The dynamite shrimp starter was hot but not too hot. The black cod entree was good and my family all enjoyed various sushi items.
