Ichiban Sushi

I've been trying a lot of the places that sell sushi in Bergen (as I live here), but in my opinion, Ichiban has the best. They don't have tables, so this is for take out only. But in summertime, me and a friend have ordered from here and eaten in one of the parks in the city. The menu is large, and they have soo many good maki's to choose from. The service is good, and it never takes more than 30 minutes for your food to get ready for pick up.

I had dinner with my family at this restaurant. The “chirashi” sushi I chose was great. Some of the menus has strange names for Japanese. A Japanese chef is an advisor and I guess the choice of some weird names is intentional. I would definitely go back if we would come back to this neighbor in the future.

Said that in Bergen there are many good restaurants offering delicious food according to local tradition and receipts, this nice restaurants can be a valid alternative to have some asian food. It's interior design is stylish, and creates a warm atmosphere. The menu offers a wide choice of dishes, including also the now traditional sushi sets.We had the dim sum basket with four types of dumpling, one special sushi deluxe menu, superior spicy tuna roll and stir-fry eggs noodels with chicken. Every dish was accurately and well prepared, tasteful. Unfortunately we couldn't get any dessert because we asked for this after 10 p.m. when the kitchen closes (but we weren't informed before). In any case, a good place to try.

This restaurant is definitely worth a visit! They served me and my friends high quality sushi which were beautifully displayed on the plat, and he flavours were on point! The price point is not to high which is great if you are not a huge money spender! They offer various types of sushi and other Japanese course meals. The restaurant itself is perfectly located in centrum of Bergen. Also, the staff is very polite and nice. This is a restaurant I look forward to visit again!

It’s a long wait for your food; but when you get it, it’s so worth it! Very tasty - we ordered the Salmon All Stars and the mixed sashimi. I’d probably order those two items again, if I had the chance to go again. Favorites were the salmon toro and the burning salmon roll. Again, it’s a bit of a wait for your food, so don’t go if you’re in a hurry. If you have time to kill, this is a fantastic meal. Dear AvidSpartan,Thank you so much for your great review and feedback.:-) Best regards from all of us in TAKE sushi

Nama Japanese Fusion

Nama is the oldest sushi restaurant in Bergen. Since the opening in 2001 we have continued to deliver top quality sushi since day one. Part of our success is a steady focus on high quality ingredients and accessories as well as creating a nice atmosphere

Our hotel (the Admiral) recommended Nama to us, so we walked around the inlet to the restaurant up the hill a bit from tourist land in Bryggen. Our first dinner was with the family (2 adults, 4 kids - ages 8 to 15), and our second was “adults only” — and we were extremely pleased with both meals. The maitr’d’esse (Anna) was friendly, patient, and guided us around the menu (in particular helping us choose for our younger offspring on the first night) — so much so that we could not help but go back again for “date night”. The service was impeccable, friendly, responsive and caring, and the sushi and related Japanese fare was tremendous. Like everything high end in Norway, it definitely lightened the wallet, but it was well worth it — twice!!
