"Inaka no Aji" is the name of the restaurant in one of the best "MIchi No Eki", or "Road Station", I have ever been to. Michi No Eki are all over Japan. They sell local produce and unique dishes at very reasonable prices (except the Matsutake mushrooms...whoo! 5,000 yen for one. What the heck am I doing in Japan? I should be picking mushrooms back in British Columbia!). After buying lots of fresh local fruits and veggies, we hit the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. Obviously local, the ladies in the kitchen whipped up "Inaka no Aji", which means the taste of the countryside. I got the curry for 550 yen. Local carrots, rice....all-you-can-eat salad and good dressing, so you know you will be stuffed when you leave. It was delicious.My wife go the "Onigiri Teishoku" (rice ball lunch special), with soup, pickles...and, well, check out the photo, but it was awesome.After lunch we were stuffed. We really wanted to try the many varieties of unique soft ice cream: wasabi, salted, soy sauce.....or their specialty, espresso poured over soft ice cream.Everyone was friendly, the vegetables are great. Why not a 5 rating? Tough to beat the ones I went to in Hokkaido and Iwate. I give this one a 4.5. Access by car, but it seems that because the roads are so flat there, lots of people bike it. Enjoy!

安曇野しゃくなげの湯の近くにあるそば屋で12時前に到着しましたが駐車場が満杯で暫く待ちました。店内は比較的広いのですが流行りのお店のようです。ざるを注文しましたが、大ざるにしなくてもちょうど良い感じです。注文してからお蕎麦が出てくるまで時間がかかります。可もなく不可でもないお蕎麦屋さんです。

We had soba (buckwheat) noodles for lunch in Daiou Wasabi Restaurant as a part of a tour. er. the managWe were welcomed at the door by The dishes were served quickly, and they were very tasty. After lunch we viewed the fields where wasabi was being grown in clear mountain water. We are lovers of good wasabi, so we were delighted with the restaurant, the wasabi fields, and the nearby gift shop.

Very popular by local people who make a line and wait for at lunch time. The menu is quite simple only soba serves, no rice meals. Here Azumino has many soba restaurants which are very expensive even just a small meals. Kurumaya is cheap and big amounts with great templa, highly recommended!

Our family ate here and we were so pleased! It was my first time tasting fresh wasabi (you grate it yourself) and it’s so different from the tube wasabi or even the wasabi I get with sushi. I was eating fake wasabi this whole time!Soba and tempura was delicious. We also enjoyed the soba tea. First time trying that also. So good! We had seconds on the tea and even bought a bag.It’s hidden among some trees so it may be hard to find. TripAdvisor’s map was helpful.

Kumiko greated us and presented pictures and english words on the them to explain the menu.The dishes were presented very well and were delicious. We even had fresh wasibi root which was very spicy and edlicious.Kumiko gave us to apples on leaving and she is a lovely host.Thank you for your coming.I'm very glad you enjoyed in our restaurant. Every guest choose Japan in the world,choose Nagano Prefecture in Japan,choose Matsumoto in Nagano Pre.and choose Itoya in Matsumoto.It makes me happy,and thanks to every customer who come to Japan.Ｉ'm waiting for your next visit.Thanks again.

We had an excellent experience in this restaurant. The food is outstanding. We had a menus of sushi and sushimi that was superb. The owners were warm and very welcoming. Overall great.
