We stayed about 15 minutes away and our hosts recommended this place.The staff and chef very helpfully translated some of the menu and we tried dishes we hadn't seen elsewhere. Each of the pizzas had generous toppings and mine was the Diavolissima, finally a spicy pizza!For an off-the-beaten-track trattoria this was very busy with lots of locals.Wish we were staying longer...

A great place to eat at for several reasons. It is a countryside trattoria, hence furniture and whole place perfectly reflects Italian atmosphere and style, you can feel as if you were Italian yourself. Menu is wide and there are plenty of pasta dishes to choose from. Moreover, since this place is kind of on the border between Emilia Romagna and Tuscany, so dishes from both cuisines are represented. I had a chance to taste tortelli di zucca (one type of pasta filled with pumpkin) with Modena vinegar - and it was an extraordinary meal! I could feel that pasta was freshly made and all ingredients were of high quality. We also ordered costata di Fiorentina with truffles. To be honest, it was the best meat I have ever eaten. Apart from food being delicious, portions are also bigger than average. Overall, it is definitely a place to go to if one is looking for a great food and prices that do not bite.

I arrived on a Sunday at 2:15 pm. The place was packed but they were able to find a spot for me. I hate excellent pasta and a delicious wild boar. The sweets were great and so was the service. When I noticed the price, I was surprised. Three people ate and drank for 35 euro's. A very pleasurable experience. If you're in the mountains, definitely go.

I have been several times, always with a large group (my family lives in nearby Vignola and this was the patriarch's favorite place to take the family for important meals--birthdays, Easter, Sundays, etc.) and I am not exagerating when I say that every item that comes out the kitchen is to die for...the tortellini are without reproach (my family will spend hours discussing and nit-picking lesser tortellini's over-use of nutmeg, or the under-use of veal), the tortelloni al ragu--however filling--will make you want seconds, their roasts, their tigelle and gnocco fritto...EVERYTHING IS INCREDIBLE. And if you go during the fall and winter, the fresh local porcini and white truffles will be showcased on the menu...do yourself a favor and do not miss out!The communication between the kitchen and the servers is top notch and no matter how big your group, no one will be left waiting for a meal.I really wish I was there right now!

We booked a table for two the day before, remembering great food from a visit a couple years ago. As we arrived a man told us if we could wait a bit and then told us all the tables in the restaurant were full, so he had to give us a table in the bar room... Well okay, if there's no other choice. As a son of owners of a restaurant this would have been completely unacceptable in our own place (which was not highbrow or anything, but as traditional as this one), if one has booked a table you keep that table for them, there's no question about this in my mind.As for the food we really liked everything, I'm leaving it to other reviewers who have done a good job to describe their (only verbal, unfortunately) menu.The bill was on the steep side for what we ate: 28⬠each for two first courses and a mixed grill shared in two, plus two coffees, desserts and water.

II tutto innaffiato con sangiovese superiore: ottimo e acqua naturale e frizzante. Con una crema catalana (+++) e un tiramisu (+++), caffè e limoncello il costo per persona è risultato di euro 25,00. If you're ever in Zocca, or, well, if you're even 100km away from it, you just shouldn't miss this one. probably the best restaurant in Italy I've ever been to (and I've been to a lot of them), bruschetta with porcini mushrooms the best I've ever tried, tortellini with chestnuts out of this world, great house wine, fantastic beef tagliata, and all this in wonderful ambiance and with perfect service.
