It's new and I believe it has room for improvement. It is a large restaurant, much larger than the average of the Italian restaurants in the city of Viseu. The service is competent and the quality of the food too. It is necessary to improve some aspects that will naturally happen with the natural "maturity" of the restaurant.

This restaurant is one of three owned by the same business within close proximity to each other. The first was originally called Cacimbo which we patronised four years ago, and this is now called Cervejaria by Cacimbo. Churrasqueria by Cacimbo, also has a flourishing take away. Reviews follow for all.Mamma Isa is modelled on an Italian trattoria, and has been opened for two years. It has two levels, the upper level has a beautiful hand drawn mural of the Rialto Bridge, complete with a gondolier, which is extremely attractive. There is a separate play zone for children, which is screened from the main restaurant for quietness.We had the lasagne and a pizza, the latter Huge! Both meals being very enjoyable and served on hot plates. The accompanying mixed salad was also very good and well presented. Overall a very good dining experience at a very fair price.

we stopped by accident as in 2017 Viseu seems to boom again and other restaurants take the advantage to close 1 day of the week (again).We weren't disappointed in this place. Very professional and nice service with great selection of food for reasonable prices. Not as typical in Portugal served on big stainless steel plates but on cermaic normal plates. Very nice Arroz Polvo!The have some pasta and huge selection of salades next to Portuguese specialities (e.g Francesinha) - excellent choices!Draught "Pressao" Vinho Verde is great (8â¬/Liter not so cheap anymore) and other selections from area.Definetly a place to return!!

I've come here since I was little. The "feijoada à brasileira" is my favourite dish but he pizza's are amazing too.Family style restaurant.

We love this restaurant during the summer because we can have a great meal outside and enjoy the wonderful service. The food is always good but the friendly atmosphere and the good suggestions make this a great place!

I came here twice during a short stay in the city.I highly recommend it, from what I can tell the sauces are authentically made. Its not a cutting edge top-restaurant, but taking price/quality into consideration it very much is cutting edge. Everything tasted freshly made, looked great and tasted even better.Note: I only tried the Indian menu, the place offers Italian aswell.If ur here and like Indian food, its a must go!

We went to this restaurant after a steady diet of fish and we were looking for something else. A nice 10 minute walk from our hotel to this pretty unassuming restaurant. Trip advisor reviews were very accurate. We ordered 4 dishes to share including a thin crust pizza and all were prepared very nicely. The owner served our table and she speaks good English. She and her staff are very accommodating to please.The wine selection was good and we found a nice bottle of red. By 8:30pm the restaurant had people waiting to get a table. Highly recommended. Nice hustle bustle local atmosphere .

I go there for lunch on occasion, this time decided to take the family...got there and the owner asks if we had a reservation, of course not...the place is completely empty by the way. So, he says, sorry we're totally booked...went by later, after having had pizza at Mamma Isa and the place is at 50% at best. So...I can only assume that he wouldn't let us in because the Mrs is black???Se não vos deixamos almoçar é mesmo porque estávamos com o restaurante todo reservado, o que felizmente acontece todos os dias, portanto não tem nada a ver com racismo ou outra coisa qualquer...foi realmente um comentário de muito mau gosto. Podem vir quando quiserem serão sempre bem vindos e bem recebido mas, reservem para não acontecer a mesma coisa.
