Let me start by saying that I only go here when Napoli's is closed and I have absolutely no other options.... Every single time I am disappointed, it's unacceptable! Today was no different.... The workers are rude and incapable of doing their job properly. I asked them to please slice my ham as thin as possible and guess what..... the ham was sliced so THICK one piece of ham was too much on my sandwich, it was disgusting! If you are too lazy or too stupid to operate a meat slicer, then you shouldn't work at a deli! I will never go here again! If you are in the area do yourself a favor and go to Napoli's!!!!

Been wanting to visit for months and the start of Utica Restaurant Week and specials brought us down on Friday evening. We were not disappointed!!!Fantastic greens and chicken riggies and they had options of spicyness for both. Went with medium and nailed it again for both. Wife had a great chicken dish and tomato salad. Waiter was great. Personable and friendly and low key and attentive. Owner came to visit and chatted for a few minutes. Overall great experience and we will be sharing this new discovery with friends and acquaintances. Best of luck going forward it was a memorable experience!

This is a diamond in the rough! Old Italian restaurant in Utica and has been around for years. Still being run by family and the food is outstanding! Making reservations was easy and the service was excellent. The food was excellent. Had rigatoni and meatballs and it was delicious. Other parties had ravioli and Fettuccine Alfredo and both were piping hot and delicious. Will definitely return to this restaurant.

I recently moved to Utica from Syracuse and had to try this pizza which people all over town rave about. Maybe that was too much hype to live up to because I was disappointed. The upside down style of cheese covered by the sauce rather than on top isn't a draw for me.

Your old school Italian restaurant in Utica NY. Forget the building, interior, decor this place is about the food. Same place I remember as a child living in the area. Famous for chicken riggies and Morrelle Greens both an original to only Chesterfields just like Buffalo Chicken Wings belong to Anchor Bar and Grill. Nothing fancy here just tasty

Alee's is located in downtown Utica, across the street from the County Courthouse. A reservation is essential, since this place has its following, and the dining room is rather small. The decor is minimalist. I have been there twice for its Saturday evening prime rib special. There is a choice of two sizes, but the 'petite" is more than enough. I ordered it medium rare, and that was exactly the way it arrived at the table. A salad comes with the meal, but any other vegetables are considered 'side orders'. The food on the whole is above average, although the desserts are restricted to various kinds of cheese cake. They were willing to bring my companion a dish of blue berries when she requested fruit rather than cheese cake. The main problem with this restaurant is the young staff who can be very annoying. While we were eating our salads (a first course) as well as our main courses, the waitresses and the bus girl came every three minutes to ask us if were enjoying our meal, Even more distracting was the fact that they returned several times to ask "are you still working on that?" The bus girl tried to remove my companion's wine glass before she was finished. The patronizing tone reached a climax as we were leaving. Neither of us is young and we both use walking sticks. The hostess said to us, "It's good that you two are still getting out". If you can tolerate a staff that is badly in need of proper training, you might like this place.

Based upon trip advisor recommendations, I stopped by and was quite pleasantly surprised. They have a delicious crust and tomato sauce with several options for toppings. The best part is their special which are 2 HUGH slices and a drink for $6.50. That's a deal where I come from. Not exactly NYC pizza but it was VERY good for upstate. Will be back. Was satiated with 2 slices.

Blah, blah, blah. So does Syracuse, Albany, and Rochester, and..... That said, this heavily themed Italian themed restaurant that I visit.... only once a year.... IS very good. Food portions are tasty and ample, the service is very good, and it is an inviting, attractive, and clean business. My only gripe is that the dinners are a bit pricey considering a side salad is not included. Substituting a vegetable....even a cheap, white, baked potato for cheap, white pasta or vice-versa will cost you a couple extra bucks in some cases. I substituted a few stalks of asparagus for the cheap, white pasta and is was two bucks extra. That's nickel and diming customers. Again, I rate this place VERY GOOD....and again, Utica has sooo many good restaurants. Be sure to try the others. I do.

Another wonderful meal with Danny. The homey atmosphere and amazing homemade food are complimented by the warm welcome from the owner. If you are wondering about this place just call for a reservation and prepare to enjoy the experience. It is somewhat akin to a big family meal at your eccentric uncles house. The food appears at a leisurely pace and while there are many courses you will enjoy the opportunity for conversation with your dinner companions. This is a unique dining experience that you shouldn't miss!
